Tim Tebow: Sizzling Broncos QB Possesses Ability to Win Super Bowl

David DanielsNov 20, 2011

Picture Tim Tebow roaring, “I’m going to Disney World.”

That image isn’t a joke of a dream.  It isn’t a punch line intended to mock.  Despite what his endless critics will relentlessly argue, Tebow possesses the ability to win a Super Bowl.

This isn’t a simple if Trent Dilfer could do it argument.  While Tebow lacks what the prototypical NFL passer boasts in pinpoint accuracy, he enjoys a trait that the majority of quarterbacks would die for.  When Tebow Time comes, crunch time, the Denver Broncos QB knows how to win football games.

Since he took the Broncos’ reins, Denver is 4-1 and in serious playoff contention.  Tebow isn’t leading the Broncos to victory, though.  He is simply playing the glorified role of a closer as Denver’s up and coming defense does the dirty work.

Numbers are overrated, or as many head football coaches would label them, lies.

Michael Vick, Tony Romo, Philip Rivers and Jay Cutler long for the day they own Tebow’s clutch gene.  Some passers, no matter how well they can dissect a defense with their arm, lack the ability to drive the dagger into their opponent’s heart.  That ability, not one to laser a dart in between two defenders, is what a quarterback must own to raise a Lombardi Trophy.

Michael Irvin, a three-time Super Bowl champ who’s as familiar with what it takes to win a world title as anyone, is a big believer in Tebow.  According to ESPN, Irvin gave his two cents on NFL Network about the Broncos’ postseason chances with Tebow under center saying:

"

“When I say ‘I believe,’ I’m talking about I believe Tebow can get this team to a Super Bowl because there has been in a shift in power in the AFC.  It’s shifted to the NFC … We say run the ball, stop the run and don’t turn the ball over.  That’s exactly what Tebow is doing right now.”

"

This isn’t a prediction that the Broncos will win the Super Bowl in 2012 or in the near future.  Again, Tebow hasn’t been leading Denver to victories and he won’t be doing so any time soon.  He must be paired with a top-notch defensive unit to succeed.

The change Tebow has ignited on John Fox’s club is undeniable, though.  That change isn’t an upgrade of talent at the quarterback position.  Tebow is a winner: period.

As simple as it sounds, that’s exactly what the difference is between himself and Kyle Orton and that’s exactly why Tebow holds the power to win a ring.
