Watch Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuain Stop Valencia with His Polemic Handball

Andres EhrliNov 20, 2011

Valencia had just pushed back from a 2-0 loss at home against La Liga leaders Real Madrid and were 3-2 in dying moments at Mestalla. And in the game's last corner kick, it was Higuain's handball that stopped them from coming back into the game.

Madrid press and its experts were quick to disregard it, saying it "clearly hit his chest" and therefore, wasn't a penalty against Real Madrid by any means.

Higuaín himself has said that "he felt the ball hit his chest." Whether you think it's right or not to trust what a player says is up to you.

On the other hand, Barcelona and Valencia press are outraged by the call and clearly feel that the call should have been a penalty for the home side.

All of this coming in the same season where Barcelona was denied two penalty calls and tied 2-2 against Valencia at Mestalla.

If you revert those calls La Liga leading position could very well be exactly the other way around.

But the fact is, one way or the other, there's a lot to talk about from that last play at Valencia.

¿What do you think the call should be?
