John Cena Survivor Series: Back to WWE Title Hunt After Survivor Series
Everyone is expecting John Cena to finally turn heel tonight. Which is fine, it’s a long overdue change in his character. But if that happens, where does his character go from there?
It’s an alarming question that the WWE is faced with, if they turn their biggest baby face to heel. After tonight’s pay-per-view Cena’s only guaranteed feud is against The Rock. So he has a lot of options as to where his character can go.
The one proponent to if this Cena heel turn is going to happen tonight is if we see CM Punk win the WWE prior to Cena’s match. If Punk goes over Alberto Del Rio tonight, it will be a lock that the WWE is going to go full steam ahead with the Cena turn.

Because with Punk as the WWE Champion, it gives Cena his first heel feud.
If you go back to the summer, these two had a fantastic feud over the same WWE Title. However, during that feud we still had Cena doing his “Hustle Loyalty Respect” schtick. Cena stuck up for his values, which resulted in him losing the title at Money in the Bank. Now, with Cena as the heel we can have him going all out in trying to defeat Punk for the WWE Title.
However, what if the WWE doesn’t make the call in putting Cena as the bad guy? What happens then if Punk still goes over and The Rock heads back to Hollywood?
If that is the case, you will Cena get involved in the WWE Title scene again. The WWE is moving to their main stretch of pay-per-views, which is where they make a majority of their money.
WWE management knows that the build to Survivor Series has been around Cena and the Rock, not Punk and Del Rio. Cena has drawn the pay-per-view dollars to this event, not Punk.
It’s why whenever this year’s Survivor Series is over, you will see Cena back in the WWE Title hunt, as we head to WrestleMania XXVIII.
