WWE Survivor Series: The Undertaker Must Return to Make Event Epic

T.J. McaloonNov 20, 2011

The hype to the 2011 Survivor Series is building to an unbelievable crescendo. We have a number of things to look forward to, but there is one surprise return that will put it over the top: the return of the the Dead Man, the Undertaker.

Now we can see the return of The Rock to action for the first time since WrestleMania XX in 2004 and that will make it great. Or we can see CM Punk win the WWE World Title, which will make it memorable.

However, none of those moments would live up to the lights going out as we hear the gong.

So if the Undertaker does make a surprise return at the event where he made his debut, where would he fit into the card? Which superstar would the Undertaker have a beef with that would force him to show his face?

He could make his presence felt during the five-on-five classic Survivor Series match. Let’s say the WWE is going to make a heel turn tonight to one of their biggest baby faces in Randy Orton. After his team is eliminated, Orton goes on a tear destroying everything at ringside, only to have Madison Square Garden go dark and the Undertaker come out to stop Orton.

This would set the stage for another WrestleMania match between Taker vs. Orton. Their first encounter was an epic contest at WrestleMania 21 that saw Orton push Taker to near pinfall after near pinfall.

Maybe Randy comes back to his gimmick as the legend killer, as he tries to take out the biggest legend of them all.

Or what if after the Mark Henry vs. Big Show match, Henry tries to break Big Show’s ankle again. Except this time when Henry is about to go up on the top turnbuckle to jump on Show’s ankle, the lights go out and we hear Taker’s music.

Undertaker in this spot doesn’t have to do anything except show up in the middle of the ring for Henry to turn tail and leave the building with his World Heavyweight title in hand.

From there Henry and Taker can build to a World Title match at WrestleMania with the World's Strongest Man giving Taker one last great battle and shot at the Heavyweight Championship.

For now it’s just speculation that the Undertaker will make an appearance at this year’s Survivor Series. If he does or does not, this pay-per-view will be one of the greatest that the WWE has ever put on.
