UFC 139 Results: Who Should Wanderlei Silva Fight Next?
On Saturday night, Wanderlei Silva saved his career, as he knocked out Cung Le in the second round of their UFC 139 fight.
In the first round, Wanderlei was rocked badly by a spinning backfist, but he was able to recover and make it out of the round.
In the second, we saw vintage Wanderlei, as he threw a few Muay Thai knees to the head of Le, and just swarmed on him.
Now that Wanderlei is back in the win column, who should he fight next?
My money is on Alan Belcher, and I'll go further and say it'll take place at UFC 144 in Japan.
If you look at the current state of the middleweight division, Wanderlei has faced Chris Leben, and lost badly, and he has faced Michael Bisping, and won.
This creates a bit of a conundrum as to where he fits in the division.
He's not top 10 just yet, but in the weak middleweight division, he's close. Another person who is very close to him in the rankings would be Alan "The Talent" Belcher.
Belcher is a four-time fight night award winner—two Submissions of the Night and two Fight of the Nights—and this fight would be perfect to see where both stand in the division.
Not to mention, it has "war" written all over it.
