NFL Week 11 Picks: Gameday Picks for Every Marquee Matchup
We are entering another very important week in the NFL. Every game seemingly has major playoff implications. There are more than a few good games this weekend, all of which will impact the playoff standings.
The biggest games are the inter-divisional matchups, where some teams are hoping to separate themselves. However, there are several other games that feature top-level teams battling it out. The NFL has become so popular based on the competitiveness in the league.
Each week there are more than a handful of upsets, making it really tough to predict the outcome of a game. However, I feel pretty confident with my selections, but feel free to argue against my picks.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Green Bay Packers
1 of 4Last week, the Green Bay Packers seemed to take their play to the next level. Up until this point, Green Bay has struggled find their stride on defense. However, they were able to really control the game versus the Minnesota Vikings.
Tampa Bay has had an up-and-down season, but appear to be a step below the Packers. Josh Freeman is in a bit of a down-slide, but he could turn it around this weekend. However, I doubt that Freeman and the Buccaneers offense can keep pace with Aaron Rodgers.
Freeman has also struggled with turnovers this season. He has been trying to force some passes which has resulted in interceptions. The Packers secondary is very opportunistic and will be looking to create some turnovers.
Green Bay’s play makes it really tough to pick against them.
Predicted Winner: Green Bay Packers
Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins
2 of 4This is my upset special. I don’t have a great explanation for this pick, but I just have a gut feeling. The Redskins have been playing some bad football, mainly on the offensive side of the ball. However, the defense is capable of making enough plays to pull off the win.
DeAngelo Hall is a very opportunistic defender, who could take advantage of Tony Romo’s aggressiveness. I also foresee Roy Helu having his breakout performance this weekend. Romo and the Cowboys have been prone for the big letdown.
This game is a divisional matchup, and the Redskins would love nothing more than to play spoiler. Sometimes we see teams play better against their rivals.
Predicted Winner: Washington Redskins
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Baltimore Ravens
3 of 4This game is going to be an extremely hard-fought contest, but I feel the Baltimore Ravens have the upper hand. However, I don’t feel very confident with this pick, as the Ravens have been very inconsistent. Its difficult to predict what Ravens team will show up.
I think we will get a highly motivated Baltimore football team, as this game has major divisional implications. The losing team will find themselves in a bit of a hole, as they make their push towards the playoffs.
Cincinnati might be without two of their top players, A.J. Green and Leon Hall. Hall will miss the rest of the season with a torn Achilles tendon, and Green is still trying to recover from a knee injury. These two injuries will have an impact on the outcome of this game.
Predicted Winner: Baltimore Ravens
San Diego Chargers vs. Chicago Bears
4 of 4This game features two teams going in opposite directions. The San Diego Chargers are going through a mid-season slump, mainly because of the struggles of Philip Rivers. While, the Chicago Bears are playing their best football, and appear poised to make a strong playoff run.
Rivers has had an issue protecting the football, leading the league with 15 interceptions. This game isn't a perfect situation for Rivers, as the Bears defense is known for their ability to create turnovers. I expect to see Chicago create at least two turnovers today.
On the other side of the ball, the Chargers defense has struggled to shut down the opponents running game. Today they will be facing a really tough test, as Matt Forte is proving to be one of the top backs in the NFL.
Chicago will win this game because of Matt Forte and a few created turnovers.
Predicted Winner: Chicago Bears
