WWE Survivor Series 2011 Predictions: With the Help of WWE '12

TC VreelandNov 19, 2011

With Survivor Series less than 24 hours away, I thought that there would be no better time than now to throw down my predictions for the 25th anniversary of the annual fall spectacular.  But how could I make these picks different than any other picks you would see on Bleacher Report?

Well, yours truly was lucky enough to come across a copy of WWE '12 a few days early, so I figured that along with my thoughts and predictions, I would simulate each of the Survivor Series matches in WWE '12 and write the results as well.

So here they are, my predictions as well as the simulated outcomes via WWE '12.  Feel free to comment in the section below, or hit me up on Twitter (@TheOneTC).

Thanks for reading, enjoy!

Divas Championship Match: Beth Phoenix vs. Eve

1 of 6

After gaining the upper hand to start the match, Eve begins to falter and lose any momentum she may have had.  Beth dominates the entire match, and scores the win after a Glam Slam.

WWE '12 Prediction:  Beth Phoenix retains WWE Divas Championship

I can't say I would bet against that prediction.  Beth Phoenix and her partner Natalya have been the two most powerful Divas in WWE since Kharma disappeared.  Though the fact that this match is a lumberjill match, and the Divas of Doom have been feuding with the entire Divas roster, makes her victory seem less likely than normal.

Still, I like Beth's chances.  If this were another match-up against Kelly Kelly, I might bet against her, but Eve hasn't really impressed anyone lately.  Beth and Kelly had a good feud going, and they still seem to be the two superstars who are focused on the most, so having Eve win would seem somewhat random.

Look for Natalya to fend off the other lumberjills and help Beth retain her title this Sunday.

Traditional Survivor Series Match: Team Orton vs. Team Barrett

2 of 6

Note: Since there is no option in WWE '12 for a Survivor Series match, I did a three vs. three, elimination style match between Orton/Sheamus/Kofi and Barrett/Ziggler/Rhodes.

The match started out with both teams frequently tagging in and out.  Orton took most of the work for his team, whereas Ziggler was seen more often for Team Barrett.  Ziggler hit a Zig Zag on Orton, but was unable to get the three count.  However, a Cross-Rhodes would be able to keep Orton down, and eliminate the team leader.

After that, things swung in the other direction.  Since most everyone had been worn down, it only took a couple of Celtic Crosses and a few other big moves for Sheamus to put out Rhodes, then Barrett, then finally Ziggler, to get the win for Team Orton.

WWE '12 Prediction: Team Orton (Sheamus and Kofi Kingston)

I really don't see Kofi finishing this match.  If Team Orton wins, it will likely be just Orton, or Orton and the other big guys (Sheamus and Mason Ryan) remaining.

Sin Cara and Hunico will be out quickly, as will Swagger and possibly Ziggler (depending on when his other match happens).  So while I may not agree with the remaining members, I do agree with the pick.

However, I think that Team Barrett could still find a way to pull out the victory in the end.  Barrett has been on quite the streak lately, and his team does include two champions.

But in the end, I think that Mason Ryan's push, as well as the dominance of Randy Orton and Sheamus, will be just too much for Team Barrett.

US Championship Match: Dolph Ziggler vs. John Morrison

3 of 6

John Morrison jumped and flipped his way to several near falls, but in the end, it was a Zig Zag that ended the match and kept the United States Championship in Ziggler's hands.

WWE '12 Prediction: Dolph Ziggler Retains.

While I have absolutely no faith in John Morrison winning this match, seeing how his contract is set to expire and he has been removed from advertisements of WWE's Japan tour, I think there is more to this story than we are seeing on paper.

Interim Raw GM, John Laurinaitis has denied Zack Ryder's Internet petition to get another shot at the United States Championship, giving Morrison the shot instead.  There have been two WWE.com articles on the subject, both painting Ryder as a victim.

So what do I think is going to happen?  I think that Laurinaitis is going to end up putting Ryder in the match at the last minute.  So I also simulated a triple threat match, and the results are almost exactly what I think is going to happen.

The three men wore each other out, as there were relatively no two on one moments.  Eventually, Ziggler hit the Zig Zag on Morrison, only to be knocked down by Ryder, who stole the pin and the United States Championship.

WWE '12 Prediction #2: New US Champion, Zack Ryder.

The way I see it, the only difference will be that Ziggler gets incapacitated and then Ryder hits his Rough Ryder on Morrison for the victory.

World Heavyweight Title Match: Mark Henry vs. Big Show

4 of 6

Punch after punch, after punch, after punch.  Neither man would stay down for long, that is until Big Show unleashed his second WMD and knocked Henry down for good.

WWE '12 Prediction: New World Heavyweight Champion, Big Show.

I really really do like Mark Henry as the World Heavyweight Champion, so maybe that's why I can't see Big Show walking out of NYC as the winner.  It could also be that I just don't see Big Show as a viable World Champion anymore.

Then again, Kane had a long World Heavyweight Title run not too long ago, and everyone though his days were long gone as well.

Still, it just doesn't seem like Henry will be dropping the title to someone who has flip-flopped from face to heel and back so many times in his career.  When Henry finally loses, it will be to a much bigger fan favorite.

I also think that there might be some funny business going down with Daniel Bryan, since he has been quietly included in the most recent parts of this storyline, but that's for another discussion.

WWE Championship Match: Alberto Del Rio vs. CM Punk

5 of 6

Alberto Del Rio locked in the Cross Arm Breaker several times, but Punk just wouldn't tap.  Possibly frustrated (does frustration come into effect in video games?) a tired Del Rio walked right into a GTS, and lost his WWE Title.

WWE '12 Prediction: New WWE Champion, CM Punk.

It's Punk's time.  Del Rio had his moments, including taking the WWE Title with him to his home country of Mexico, but the fans, the IWC, and likely the WWE Writers have had enough of him as the Champion who draws even less of a response than the guy who created his own championship.

I don't expect there to be anything crazy about this match, just put the title back in Punk's hands and let's all go home happy.

John Cena and The Rock vs. The Miz and R-Truth

6 of 6

Unfortunately, since WWE '12 isn't officially released yet, I can't go online and download The Rock, so we're not getting a prediction from the game.

More has been theorized about this match than any other match in a long time.  I've heard that Cena will turn heel on The Rock, that The Rock will turn on Cena, that Kevin Nash will come out and re-form the nWo with Miz and Truth, costing Cena and Rock the match, and several other ideas for this match to end, but I just don't see Cena or The Rock losing or turning on each other with so much being built up for WrestleMania.

Would I love to see some crazy scenario go down with a new nWo?  Sure.  Would I like to see Cena turn heel and go all bad ass before WrestleMania?  Absolutely!  But do I think anything like that is going to happen?  Not really.

More than anything, I really just don't want to get my hopes up for some crazy ending, and have it end with The Rock and Cena shaking hands as it fades to black, so I'm just going to assume that it ends normally, and if anything crazy happens, I'll be surprised and excited.

What's the worst that could happen?
