The Rock: Why the Great One's WWE Return at Survivor Series Will End in Letdown
Finally The Rock has come back to the WWE. It will be the first time that he has wrestled inside of a WWE ring since WrestleMania XX in 2004. So what makes you think that this match will be anything near electrifying, though?
The WWE was smart in putting The Rock’s first match since ’04 in this style of match. Could you imagine if Rock’s first and only match was his singles contest against John Cena at WrestleMania XXVIII?
The amount of ring rust that Rock must have has to make you think that he is going to come out with a bad performance at Survivor Series.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Before he left the WWE in ’04, The Rock was never known to put on five-star technical matches. He was known for hitting his signature moves while entertaining the crowd with a very simplistic offense. I mean, his finisher for some time was a freaking elbow-drop named “The People's Elbow.”
Now how are we to know that after two minutes in the ring he won’t be extremely gassed? How are we to expect anything more from The Rock than seeing him hit a Samoan Drop, People's Elbow and a Rock Bottom?
For those that want to see The Rock in this match for more than five minutes, you will be disappointed. Yes, he looks to be in some of the best shape of his life, but it’s just all muscles.
Point in case, let’s take a look at the Ultimate Warrior. Did he have a great physique? Yes. Did he last for more than a minute in the ring? No.
What we got was someone that was extremely entertaining in the build-up to the match, then about three or four moves during the match, and then it was over.
Tonight’s Survivor Series match with The Rock and John Cena vs. The Miz and R-Truth will see a lot of things. It will see The Rock make his first return to WWE action in almost a decade. We will see a potential heel turn from one of the biggest baby faces in the history of the WWE. But we will not see The Rock in this match for more than five minutes total.
What you are going to see is Cena do everything against Awesome Truth. You will see The Rock on the outside of the ring until the end of the match.
People, don’t believe the hype in The Rock making this match great or even decent. Because he will disappoint, and it will hurt the build toward WrestleMania.
