The Undertaker WWE: Why We Won't See the Deadman at Survivor Series
The rumor mill swirls as the WWE universe approaches one of the biggest pay per views in the company’s history. Who will be there, who won’t? The name that surfaces the most is the Deadman himself, the Undertaker. Fans will salivate over one of the all time greats coming back, but I wouldn’t count on it.
In years past, this would have been a good as time as any and with WWE magazine having made mention of his late year return you could make the case that we’ll see Taker tonight, but beyond a little tease I’m doubtful.

Taker has made it clear, through his absence, that he’s not going back to working full programs. He’s barely laced up in 2011 and the WWE is clearly saving him for Mania. They’d rather have him come back in January or early February where he can work a program for a couple of months, wrestle a tune-up match or two then go toe-to-toe with whoever they have challenge taker.
Bringing him back now would only serve purpose if the WWE decided that they’d want him to work a program with Big Mark Henry; however, considering just how stiff a worker Henry has been known to be in the past, you can count that as a silly idea to have him lock up and risk injury.
The only purpose it serves at Survivor Series would be to do it to increase the rebuy rate for the marquee pay-per-view. However, if Taker was coming back for sure, they’d be likely to exploit it for their own financial gain and promote it nearly as much as they have promoted Rock and Cena.
My best guess? We won’t see Taker until someone calls him out for Mania. He’ll reappear when someone wants to challenge the streak. Taker may have one more match in him, and it would be a shame to waste it before Mania.
