NFL Week 11 Predictions: Road Teams That Will Prevail in Hostile Territory

Michael DixonNov 19, 2011

This does not look like the greatest slate of NFL games this week. There are a few good matchups, but a lot of ones that just don't look all that appealing.

Still, you never know if a good home field advantage can make a game a lot closer than it should be.

Well, in the case of these games, we can make a pretty good guess.

These teams don't have the home field advantage working in their favor, but don't look for that to matter this week.

Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins

The Bills have had their struggles in recent weeks. Their 3-0 start now looks like it was years ago, as a 1-3 stretch over the last four games have dropped the Bills to 5-4, struggling for their playoff lives.

Conversely, the Dolphins have effectively knocked themselves out of contention for the No. 1 pick with a two-game winning streak.

But this week will resemble the early season. The Bills' passing attack will be too strong for the Dolphins.

Oakland has been horribly inconsistent all season. Still, only one of their four losses came on the road, and that was a nail biter against the Bills. Their three additional losses (New England, Kansas City, Denver) all came at home.

Minnesota is just not a very good team. They do have Adrian Peterson going against a run defense that is not always very good.

But the Raiders get a mini-bye this week, having played a Thursday game in Week 10. Look for them to prevail in this one. The Raiders don't have Adrian Peterson, but they are the better overall team.

The Cowboys are not unlike the Raiders. Every time you say something too definitive about them, they burn you. If you say they're done, they come out and beat one of the top teams in the league.

If you say that they're on track, they come out and play terrible against a bad team.

Well, here we are and I am being definitive on both. Am I just too slow to learn my lesson, or do I maybe know something? Judge for yourself.

This is a great matchup for the Cowboys. The two teams are radically different than they were during the field goal fest from earlier in the season in Dallas. Despite having just about everything working against them, the Cowboys won that game.

Now, just about everything is working for them. Look for the result to be the same as the early season game, but it won't be that suspenseful.
