Tim Tebow: Fans and Hype Continue to Be Reasons Tebow Receives Hate
Well, that cute little trick backfired.
The Denver Broncos let the fans run the franchise for a bit. They thought, fine, you want Tim Tebow, you can damn well have him. That is when things got wholly interesting. The Broncos began winning and the fans, in fine fan fashion, give all the credit to Tebow...who is still an awful quarterback.
The Denver Post ran a story this week that touched upon the conspiracy theory that John Fox and John Elway secretly want Tebow to fail.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Of course they don't want Tebow to fail. They just don't understand what you see in him. Fox puts it perfectly: "It's not like we were setting the world on fire. I mean, we were sitting there with a 1-4 record. We had to find out if something else could work."
Before I delve into misguided fanaticism, let me tell you what you fans got right: Tim Tebow is a special guy that is an amazing young man. This is not a matter of Tebow hate speech, because I love the guy.
The fact is, fans and overzealous writers are getting this all wrong. In fact, it is downright ridiculous that tweets like this are happening.
There are Broncos fans that are of the same mind that Tebow deserves consideration for the illustrious MVP award. That is just plain stupid and is why Tebow's game and not his person is getting so much hate from the media right now.
You silly homers are making it hard for the media to cease and desist on Tebow talk. The fans and the hype are the only reason Tebow gets so much heat.
The Jets were just awful last night, and, honestly, so was Tebow. The man was 9-of-20 with too many three-and-outs to forget.
He simply can't throw the ball, and it will come back to haunt the Broncos. This is like a running back that can't run. It is woefully optimistic to think the Broncos can continue to win with a one-dimensional quarterback that can't throw the ball.
If you want an MVP, give it to the rest of the team that has stepped up, or give it to the New York Jets, who stunk up the joint and allowed the Tebow mythology to get all the more silly.
