WWE Survivor Series 2011: Dolph Ziggler Pulling Double Duty for 2nd PPV in a Row

The Doctor Chris MuellerNov 18, 2011

This Sunday is WWE's 25th annual Survivor Series PPV and one of the people who is going to have the most to gain from the evening is United States Champion Dolph Ziggler.

Last month, WWE showed their faith in Ziggler's ability to perform high-quality matches by having him compete in not one, but two title matches.

He and his partner Jack Swagger took on Air Boom in a losing effort for the tag-team titles. It was only seconds later that Ziggler's next match would begin.

He faced Zack Ryder for his US title in a match that had many people impressed with both young superstars. Luckily for Ziggler, he was able to escape with his title intact.

This was the first time in quite a while where someone had fought two title matches in one night, and it showed that WWE knew Ziggler was a reliable talent they could trust to perform when asked.

Now it looks as if WWE is again showing their faith in the brash young star by having him compete in the traditional 5-on-5 elimination match as well as a match for his US title with John Morrison.

Morrison seems to be having a bit more luck as of late and could be on the verge of a new push, but I still feel like ZIggler is the best one suited to have the US title.

The US and IC titles have something in common other than being the second titles on their respective brands, they are also being held by two men who I feel will be the leaders of the WWE someday.

Dolph and Cody have proven time and time again that they can rise to the occasion and perform with just about anybody.

I know Ziggler will be great in the US title match with Morrison, as these two have put on great matches in the past, but it is the elimination match where I am hoping he really excels.

I predicted in another article that Barrett and Ziggler would be the last men standing in the elimination match, and I stand by that prediction.

I think giving Ziggler these two wins would help cement his push and put him in real contention for a world title again.

He is one of the shortest-reigning world champions in history and I know he would love to get that title back for a much longer period of time should the chance arise.

People have been saying for months now that Orton will win the Rumble next year, but I would not be surprised if Ziggler pulled out the win.

What do you think, does Ziggler have it in him to pull off two more matches this Sunday?
