Jaguars vs. Browns: 7 Things to Look for in Sunday's Game

David LevinNov 18, 2011

Could this be the game that turns everything around for the Jacksonville Jaguars?

With the team coming into Cleveland and having won two of their last three games, it could be the start of something better for this team.

Cleveland is a team similar to the Jags. A good defense followed up by an offense that cannot seem to get out of its way.

This will either be a defensive stand or maybe the teams open it up a bit and play a fast-break offense on the field.

Seriously, you know that won't happen.

Here are some things to watch for on Sunday.

Matt Roth Returns to Cleveland

1 of 7

During free agency, Roth made it clear that any team that came up with $3 million could have his services.

The Jaguars bit on the offer and now they have a good defensive end to go along with Jeremy Mincey.

It will be interesting to see how he pressures former teammate Colt McCoy.

Let Mincey Rule the Line Again

2 of 7

Mincey has been a beast this year.

He had 2.5 sacks last week against the Colts and was all over the field.

If he has another monster game like last week, then the defense will have success.

Run MJD

3 of 7

We have not seen a true breakout game from Maurice Jones-Drew this season.

Could it happen this week?

You know, the one where he runs for over 150 yards and two scores?

That could be the ticket to an expanded offense.

More Time Management

The Jaguars did a great job of controlling the clock last week.

Cleveland is not a high-powered offense, but the defense is pretty good.

Get the ball, hold on to it and you will be fine.

Find the Tight End

5 of 7

Jack Del Rio will not discuss the problems that exist with Marcedes Lewis in the passing game.

It is up to Lewis to let his play do his talking for him.

If Blaine Gabbert does not throw at his feet, Lewis could have a big game.

Give West and Dillard More Playing Time

6 of 7

Chastin West and Jarrett Dillard were key to the win last week with important catches on scoring drives.

They earned more playing time. Since Mike Thomas and Jason Hill are not getting the job done, how about giving these guys more time?

Give Gabbert More Opportunities

7 of 7

It appeared Blaine Gabbert grew up a bit last week.

Can he grow some more?

Will he be poised enough to put up two solid games in a row?
