Indiana vs. Michigan State: Latest Spread Info, BCS Impact and Predictions
On Saturday, the Indiana Hoosiers will take a road trip to East Lansing to take on the Michigan State Spartans.
Indiana is 1-9 overall and are 0-6 in conference play. The Spartans are going in the opposite direction, as they sport an 8-2 overall record, 5-1 in Big Ten play. They lead the Big Ten Legends half of the conference.
The winner of this game will claim the Old Brass Spittoon. Indiana hasn't beaten Michigan State since 2006 (the game was not played in 2009 and 2010).
Where: Spartan Stadium. East Lansing, Mich.
When: Saturday, Nov. 19 at 12 p.m. ET
Watch: Big Ten Network. Streamed at BTN.com.
Spread: Michigan State (-28), according to Sportsbook.
A four-touchdown win is big, obviously. Still, I like the Spartans to pull it off. It will be an emotional day for the seniors, as it is their last home game.
That also tends to mean that bench players will come into the game late and play normally.
Yes, that's a scary spread, but I like the Spartans to pull it off.
Over/Under: 53.5, according to Sportsbook.
I like the under here. I just don't have Indiana scoring many points, so almost all of those points would come from the Spartans.
I like them to win big, but I don't see them hitting 54 points.
Key Injuries
Indiana WR Duwyce Wilson, CB Peter St. Fort, K Nick Freeland, T Josh Hager and RB Darius Willis are out.
Indiana S Drew Hardin, WR Cory Latimer, C Will Matte, S Donnell Jones, QB Dusty Kiel and S Jarrell Drane are questionable.
Michigan State T Skyler Burkland, NT Antonio Jeremah, S Jarius Jones and G Zach Hueter are out.
Keys to Indiana Win
RB Stephen Houston will need to control the game for the Hoosiers. Heavy underdogs on the road generally need a strong running attack to have any chance.
Keys to Michigan State Win
Kirk Cousins doesn't need to play a great game here. What he can't do is come out and turn the ball over and play a really bad game.
As long as he realizes that he doesn't need to force passes, the Spartans will cruise.
BCS/Top 25 Poll Implications
Michigan State is a factor in the Big Ten race and No. 15 in the BCS. They need to win here to at least maintain either of those positions.
Indiana is nothing more than a spoiler at this point of the season.
Prediction: Michigan State 37, Indiana 6
The Spartans are just a much better team. I can see them being a little complacent in this one, but I doubt it will show in the final score.
