WWE News: Big Change to Friday Night Smackdown Reportedly Being Considered
There are plenty of things to do on Friday nights, from going to see a movie to drinking a cocktail—or seven—at your favorite bar.
You can also watch Friday Night Smackdown.
Chances are, however, that you’re generally either too busy to watch the show, or you wind up DVRing it so that you can watch it at a later date.

Well, you might not have to do that anymore. It looks like the WWE is trying to get Smackdown off Friday nights.
From F4Wonline.com (via SEScoops.com):
"WWE officials are talking with SyFy about doing more live Tuesday SmackDown specials in early 2012 to build WrestleMania 28.
Due to the ratings success of WWE’s previous live Tuesday SmackDown specials, WWE has been toying with the idea of moving SmackDown to Tuesdays permanently.
"
Wow. This is a fantastic idea.
While doing more live specials would be a good start, moving Smackdown to Tuesdays permanently would be a great move for the WWE.
Along with Saturday, Friday is traditionally one of the worst nights of the week for TV viewing for reasons like the ones I mentioned earlier. People tend to stay home on weeknights, but it’s a different story on the weekends. People want to get out of the house after being cooped up all week.
Thus, Friday Night Smackdown’s ratings aren’t as high as they would be if the show was called Tuesday Night Smackdown—or hell, even if it was Wednesday/Thursday Night Smackdown.
Tuesdays would be ideal because it would make things much easier on the WWE’s TV crew. What's more, storylines from Raw would still be fresh in the viewers’ minds.
However, it doesn’t have to be Tuesday.
As long as Smackdown gets off Fridays and gets onto some other weekday night that isn’t Monday, then the WWE is headed in the right direction.
