NFL Week 11 Picks: Predictions for Every Primetime Game

Zach KruseNov 17, 2011

Let's quickly run down each of the primetime games in Week 11 of the NFL season before the Jets and Broncos clash tonight:

New York Jets at Denver Broncos

All eyes are going to be on Tim Tebow and the Broncos' unconventional offense, and for good reason. The read-option plays that the Broncos employ is more Urban Meyer than John Fox; more college offense than pro. It'll also be interesting to see how the Jets defense handles that offense with only a handful of days to prepare.

However, this Thursday night hinges on how well the Broncos defense plays. In the three wins the Broncos have over their past four games, the defense has allowed just over 17 a game. They need to turnover Mark Sanchez to give their offense the opportunities they need.

In the end, the Jets defense should be the difference. New York's front seven is a far cry from what Tebow and Co. have faced in recent weeks. Sanchez will do just enough to escape Denver with a win.

Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants

After putting themselves into a 3-6 hole, every week is a one-game season from here on out for the Eagles. Another loss likely knocks them out of playoff contention. They face a huge matchup on Sunday night in the Giants, who have already beaten the Eagles once this season.

I'd bet that injured quarterback Michael Vick finds a way to get himself into the starting lineup, but is that enough? The Eagles offense really lacked punch in a loss to the Cardinals a week ago. And the defense? Can they keep Brandon Jacobs (and possibly Ahmad Bradshaw) from running wild?

I don't think a DeSean Jackson punt return at the gun is going to do it this year. The Giants end the Eagles' 2011 season with a big win in prime time.

Giants 30, Eagles 13

Kansas City Chiefs at New England Patriots

Even with Matt Cassel being unable to make his return to New England to face his old team, this game still has plenty of story lines.

Tom Brady faces the team that ended his 2008 season before it really began for first time, Tyler Palko makes his first NFL start and there are plenty of connections within the organizational structure of both teams.

But on the field, it's hard to like the Chiefs in a game in which they are 15-point underdogs. Palko will be facing a Patriots defense that seemed to have figured some things out last week in New York, and the Chiefs offense has really dropped off since their four-game winning streak.

Palko could be the spark, but I doubt it. Pats should roll at home.
