NFL Week 11 Predictions: Home Teams That Will Dominate Division Rivals
The San Francisco 49ers (8-1) will humble the surging Arizona Cardinals (3-6) this Sunday afternoon at Candlestick Park in the NFC West rivals first meeting of the season.
That game is not the only one poised to become a blowout in Week 11. This weekend's slate of games features several intriguing divisional matchups that could produce uneven results.
Here are three teams that will make mince meat of their division foes in Week 11:
San Francisco 49ers Over Arizona Cardinals
The Niners have won seven-straight games since falling to the Dallas Cowboys in overtime back in Week 2. They have won three straight games at home since that loss, and will surely do in the Cardinals in Week 11.
Although Arizona is coming off its first road win of the season at Philadelphia last Sunday, the Cardinals 21st-ranked rushing defense will be in for a long day on the road this week as San Francisco's Frank Gore heads the NFL's seventh-ranked rushing attack.
The 49ers also boast the league's top-ranked rushing defense, which will force shaky back up quarterback John Skelton to attempt to beat them through the air.
Not the best game plan for the Cardinals to avoid a blowout.
Baltimore Ravens Over Cincinnati Bengals
The Ravens have added motivation to protect their 4-0 record at home this season on Sunday against division rival Cincinnati after losing to the lowly Seahawks in Week 10.
Baltimore's D is a nightmare for rookie quarterbacks, and as well as Andy Dalton has played through the season's first 10 weeks, he has yet to face the Ravens' veteran turnover machine.
The Bengals mediocre offense will be under even more pressure in Week 11 on the road than it was last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Bengals rank 23rd and 20th in passing and rushing offense respectively while the Ravens rank sixth and third against the pass and run respectively.
This matchup no doubt favors the purple guys playing in front of a jacked up home crowd desperate for a win to keep pace with the division leading Steelers.
Baltimore's struggling pass attack will break through against Cincinnati as well, Flacco will have help from Ray Rice running the ball more than five times this week and the Ravens will win easy.
New York Giants Over Philadelphia Eagles
Looking to avenge last season's last-second loss to the Eagles at home because of a DeSean Jackson punt return TD as the clock expired, the Giants will be ready to play at home against a struggling Philadelphia team.
New York lost a tough conference game on the road last week at San Francisco, and needs a win on Sunday to keep pace for the playoffs. Although the Eagles' defense has improved considerably since the beginning of the year, they currently rank 11th and 17th against the pass and run respectively. The potential sidelining of quarterback Michael Vick could produce a blowout.
Philly's offense will rely far too heavily on running back LeSean McCoy, and the league's top-ranked ground attack will be snuffed out from the very first play. Big Blue is 3-1 at home this season, only losing to the Seahawks in a stunner.
The Eagles have only won three games all season and have been beaten by lousy opponents at times. With Dallas surging behind New York for the NFC East lead, watch for the Giants to take care of Philadelphia early on Sunday night in a blowout.
