NFL Week 11 Picks: Looking at Heavy Favorites That Will Stomp Opposition

Ryan PhillipsNov 17, 2011

The Green Bay Packers are 9-0 and have been consistently outstanding this season. Meanwhile, the New England Patriots are 6-3 and have scuffled a bit. Both teams could be on a collision course to meet in the Super Bowl, and in Week 11 they will both blow out their opposition.

On Monday night, the Patriots face a Kansas City Chiefs team that just suffered a gut punch in the form of a hand injury to starting quarterback Matt Cassel. Cassel had surgery on his throwing hand this week and is likely done for the season.

The loss of Cassel leaves a Chiefs team that was struggling offensively in an even more dire situation. I don't trust new starter Tyler Palko to lead Kansas City to a road win over New England. In fact, I'm not sure he'll be able to get the offense to even move the football.

The Patriots are coming off a bounce-back 37-16 win over the New York Jets. Quarterback Tom Brady's passing attack is currently at the top of the league (averaging 326 yards per game) and I just don't see any way the Chiefs can stop them. This one should be a blowout since Kansas City won't be able to move the ball and the Pats will throw all over them.

Prediction: New England 42, Kansas City 17

The Green Bay Packers are easily the best team in all of football and they have looked that way all season. It doesn't matter who they face, the Packers have systematically carved up every opposing defense. There is no reason to believe that quarterback Aaron Rodgers' historic run will end this weekend against a struggling Tampa Bay Buccaneers team.

After surprising everyone with a 10-6 record last year, the Bucs have limped to a 4-5 mark this season. While Tampa Bay has talent, the team has simply struggled to find an identity. Against a Packers team that knows exactly what it can do, that will be a serious problem.

Expect the Packers to roll to an easy home win on Sunday and improve their record to 10-0.

Prediction: Green Bay 45, Tampa Bay 17
