Jerry Sandusky: Why Jill Jones Was Right To Turn Her Back on Him

Alex KayNov 17, 2011

Jerry Sandusky’s ex-daughter-in-law has taken the steps necessary to protect her children from the ex-Penn State defensive coordinator.

According to The Daily Mail, Jill Jones, ex-wife of Matt Sandusky, one of five boys adopted by Sandusky and his wife, obtained a court order barring her ex-husband’s father from having unsupervised contact with his grandchildren and any overnight visits.

The couple has two girls, ages nine and seven, and a boy, age five, who will now be under very strict restraints when they can see their grandfather.

Jones was apparently appalled and horrified to learn the charges against Sandusky and strongly urged her husband to keep her children away from the alleged pedophile.

Jones soon learned from Jerry Sandusky’s wife, Dorothy, that Matt had taken the kids to his father’s state college home but he was not there.

Mrs. Sandusky tried to convince Jones that her children were perfectly safe with the family but Jones obviously did not agree with that sentiment.

Jones did not feel that her kids were in immediate danger but went through with the restraining order because of a “fundamental disagreement over the validity of the charges against Jerry Sandusky and the risk he poses to children,” according to court documents.

Matt is still supportive of his adopted father even after learning about the 40 counts of sexual assault with young men. He should know better than to bring his kids around someone capable of such evil if he experienced it himself.

Jill Jones needed to distance her children from all of these horrifying allegations and revelations we have been dealing with over the past few weeks surrounding her ex-husband’s father.

They do not need to get close to their grandfather. It is a horrible, terrible tragedy and these kids do not need to get involved. It wouldn’t be fair to them.
