WWE Survivor Series: Randy Orton Will Prove Every Great Falls at Some Point

Ryan RudnanskyNov 17, 2011

Randy Orton is one of the great wrestlers of his generation, but every great falls at some point.

WWE's upcoming Survivor Series event will be Orton's downfall.

Matched up against rising star Wade Barrett, Orton will finally experience a crushing defeat at what has become his PPV.

Barrett was in danger of becoming a bust, immersed in mid cards on SmackDown to start 2011. His stable The Corre became a joke, and his feuds with The Big Show and Ezekiel Jackson were forgotten as soon as they began.

But Oct. 21 marked a phenomenal comeback for Barrett on SmackDown, finally recapturing that swagger and talent he has always had. It marked the beginning of "The Barrett Barrage," which has been one of the year's greatest runs.

Barrett has all the tools to become a superstar in the WWE, with the strength, athleticism, look, mic skills and confidence to soar up the ranks. Now, finally, he's beginning to put it all together.

Barrett heads into Survivor Series with a wealth of momentum. It is this momentum that I think will propel Barrett past Orton and give Orton his most humiliating defeat of the season.

"The Barrett Barrage" will continue, and Barrett will finally get to the pinnacle he has always been capable of reaching. He's a star in the making, and he's already shown us what he's capable of since Oct. 21.

It's time for some new blood, a new star, and Orton will find out first hand that momentum can destroy just as much as it makes you soar.

Barrett is riding a wave and leaving a trail of destruction in his path.

At this point, I don't see anyone stopping the storm that is "The Barrett Barrage."
