Penn State Scandal: Nation Deserves a Comprehensive Investigation into Scandal

Pennsylvania state legislator Scott Conklin told TMZ on Wednesday that there should be a thorough investigation into the Penn State scandal.

He's absolutely right.

We've already seen where the "good ol' boy mentality," as Conklin calls it, has got Penn State. Former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky is facing 40 counts of sexually abusing young boys, while several high-profile members at the university, including Joe Paterno, allegedly covered it all up.

However, Penn State obviously doesn't get it. The school fired Paterno and president Graham Spanier, but have only placed athletics director Tim Curley and receivers coach Mike McQueary on administrative leave (with pay).

The nation deserves to know everything that went on during the scandal, tracing all the way back to 1994. It may be the only thing that finally hammers the university enough for it to change.

By placing Curley and McQueary on administrative leave, Penn State is proving how monstrous its leaders have been for almost two decades. It's got past the point where just a few details would have been enough for most people. We deserve to know exactly what went on; all the dirt, all the horror, all the secrets.

This has been a nightmare for many people, not to mention the alleged victims and their families.

People who have never had any connection to Penn State have been affected by the magnitude of the allegations. And, believe me, no one in the media enjoys covering this.

Nonetheless, we need to know the entire nightmare. And Penn State deserves to be held fully accountable.

Penn State has been covering this up for years. We must make sure nothing else is from here on out.
