NFL Power Rankings: Looking at the League's Most Impressive Teams

John RozumNov 16, 2011

When it comes to the most impressive, in the grand scheme of things it's difficult to view what separates each team. Mainly because some teams start out fast and impressive, but then begin to slow down at a rapid pace.

On the contrary, impressive teams are more so related to who's currently rolling through and gaining momentum. That said, here are three of the NFL's most impressive teams heading into Week 11.

Green Bay Packers (9-0)

With their Monday night romp of the Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay took another step toward improving as the NFL's best team—which not only is impressive, but also makes them that much more dangerous.

When you're already the game's best team and you know there's still quite a bit of room for improvement, that's scary good. The Packers have yet to hit their peak but keep climbing and rumbling through opponents.

In other words, the cheese shows no signs of slowing down.

San Francisco 49ers (8-1)

The simple fact that San Fran was 6-10 in 2010, but is now 8-1, with four solid road wins on their resume, is damn impressive.

The 49ers have a solid pass rush and are excellent at stopping the run. Forcing opponents to become one-dimensional right from kickoff gives them a big advantage, even though defending the pass is their weakness.

However, with a great two-back tandem in Frank Gore and Kendall Hunter to go with a reliable and efficient passing game—but not necessarily explosive—the Bay Area could roll to 15-1 and get the NFC's No. 1 seed, if Green Bay does slip.

Chicago Bears (6-3)

The Bears are in an unfortunate position because they're in the NFL's most difficult division. However, expect Chicago to slide past Detroit and finish second in the NFC North, because the Monsters of the Midway are not only better, but also have been more impressive as of late.

Currently, Chicago is riding a four-game win streak, a much-improved defense and an offense that really revolves around RB Matt Forte. Thing is, no one has yet to really figure out how to stop Forte because he's good at both receiving and rushing.

Now add in return specialist Devin Hester, who gives Chicago arguably the NFL's best special teams, and the Windy City is not only making the playoffs, but also has a legit shot to make a deep run as well.
