NFL Picks Week 11: 5 Underdogs That Could Surprise This Week
It's Week 11, football fans, and that means there is yet another round of exciting NFL action coming our way.
This week's NFL schedule, like many before it, is particularly interesting because it is packed full of potential upsets.
Here's a look at five underdogs that could come out on top this week.
Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills
1 of 5The Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills are two teams heading in opposite directions.
After losing their first seven games in embarrassing fashion, Miami seems to have found new life since naming Matt Moore their starting quarterback. They've won two straight over Kansas City and Washington and things are finally clicking on both sides of the ball for the lowly Dolphins.
Buffalo, on the other hand, is coming off of a 44-7 loss to Dallas and looks to be falling apart at the seams. Look for the Bills to fold under the pressure of a hostile Miami crowd and lose a third straight game in a low scoring affair.
Score Prediction: 17-13 Miami
Carolina Panthers at Detroit Lions
2 of 5The Carolina Panthers are just 2-7, but they have the firepower to beat anyone in the NFL on any given day. This weekend they'll have a chance to prove that against the 6-3 Detroit Lions.
While the Lions have become one of America's favorite franchises because of their recent rags-to-riches rise to the top of standings, they have struggled as of late, losing three of their last four games and looking awfully sloppy in doing so.
No one expects much out of Cam Newton and his Panther teammates this weekend, but don't be surprised if they give the limping Lions more than they can handle and head home from Detroit with a surprising W.
Score Prediction: 30-24 Carolina
Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens
3 of 5The Cinderella Bengals got a dose of reality last week when they lost to Pittsburgh in a hard-fought divisional battle, but they have an opportunity to bounce back this week as they travel to Baltimore to take on the 6-3 Ravens.
Baltimore has been heralded as one of the NFL's best teams by analysts nationwide, but their inability to win consistently is concerning.
While the Ravens did beat Arizona and Pittsburgh back-to-back in Weeks 8 and 9, they also lost to Jacksonville in Week 7 and Seattle in Week 10. If they don't show up to play this week the Bengals will take full advantage.
Score Prediction: 27-17 Cincinnati
Tennessee Titans at Atlanta Falcons
4 of 5While Tennessee and Atlanta are both 5-4 on the season, most NFL fans and followers are expecting Atlanta to handle the Titans with ease this Sunday.
Not so fast.
Tennessee's offense has been scoring at will in recent weeks, and with running back Chris Johnson finally getting it together they could potentially surprise some people as the season winds down.
Sure, Atlanta is one of the most explosive teams in the league, but they're also very streaky. If they don't have their A game this Sunday, the Titans could very well come out of this one with a victory.
Score Prediction: 24-20 Tennessee
Denver Broncos vs. New York Jets
5 of 5Say what you will about Tim Tebow's ridiculous style of play, but the Broncos are 3-1 since naming the Gator gunslinger their starting quarterback and they're riding high into their prime time Thursday night matchup with the Jets.
New York certainly has the defensive talent to shut down the Broncos' unorthodox offensive attack, but considering the fact that they will have had just three days of mid-week preparation, they may not be fully prepared schematically to keep Tebow at bay.
Call me crazy, but this one has the makings of yet another Denver victory.
Score Prediction: 28-17 Denver
