WWE Survivor Series 2011: Why Beth Phoenix Must Continue Her Domination of Eve

For quite some time, the WWE Divas division has been lacking in true talent. While there is no denying the beauty of the competitors, only a select few of them possess actual in-ring skills. That is why the creative team made a great decision in giving Beth Phoenix the title.

Phoenix has held the Divas Championship for the past couple months and has breathed some new life into the division as a heel, along with partner Natalya. While their feud with Eve and Kelly Kelly has gotten repetitive, it hasn't been the fault of the "Divas of Doom."

Seeing as there aren't many believable challengers at this point, Beth has continually defended her title against what she proclaims to be the "Barbie Doll Divas." She will do so again at Survivor Series as she once again faces off against Eve.

While some may be clamoring for an Eve win just for the sake of change, the creative team needs to be patient here. If Phoenix is afforded the opportunity to hold the title for a long period of time, then it is possible that we could see the most compelling Diva feud in years.

That feud would be Phoenix against the monstrous Kharma. During a one-month run during the spring, Kharma destroyed every Diva in her path. A shocking revelation forced her off television as quickly as she had gotten on it, though, as she was pregnant.

Kharma never got to wrestle a match, but her dominance was obvious. In her absence, Phoenix should continue to be built as a dominant champion that runs through the entire division. If done correctly, then the two could be on a collision course by May.

The estimate was that Kharma would be out for roughly a year, so a May return date would be feasible. This means that Beth would have to hold the title through WrestleMania. While it would require an incredible amount of patience, it can very easily be done.

If Beth plays hot potato with the belt over the next several months, then a feud with Kharma wouldn't have the same effect. For Phoenix to look like a true threat, she will have to be on a major winning streak, and that includes beating Eve at Survivor Series.

I'm not sure that the creative team has the foresight or the patience to make this happen, but if they do, then it has major potential. Even if that plan isn't in the cards, though, Eve has no business winning on Sunday. We've already seen Eve with the title, and while she's passable, she's certainly nothing special.
