NFL Week 11 Picks: Advance Warning for Teams on Upset Alert

Zach KruseNov 16, 2011

Could the following seven NFL teams by on upset alert in Week 11?

Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense are playing out of their minds in 2011, but remember that Rodgers-led teams lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in both '08 and '09. In each game, Rodgers threw three interceptions. Could they still be his Kryptonite?

Detroit Lions

The Lions are coming off a confidence-check game in which they lost by 31 points to a divisional rival, the Bears. The 2-7 Panthers roll into Detroit fresh off a blowout loss of their own, but they've shown that they can play with the big boys on any given Sunday.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills are reeling as losers of four of their past six games. It's gut check time for them if they have any hopes of making the AFC playoffs. Getting back on the winning side won't be easy when the Bills have to travel to Miami to take on a Dolphins team that has suddenly won two straight games.

San Francisco 49ers

Is there a trust building in John Skelton, the Cardinals quarterback who has helped them win two straight, including a fourth-quarter comeback last week in Philadelphia? If he again plays well this weekend, the Cards could give the Niners trouble.

Dallas Cowboys

Despite the roll that the Cowboys look to be on right now and the recent free fall of the Washington Redskins, you could never discount the importance of rivalry games like this. Add in the fact that the Cowboys have to travel away from their billion dollar stadium and are 1-3 on the road in 2011, and you never know.

Chicago Bears

A battle of two teams going in two opposite directions doesn't typically lend itself for an upset debate, but you have to think there is going to be a little desperation out of the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. While the Bolts have lost four straight and the Bears are exactly the opposite streak during the same span, would anyone be completely shocked if both streaks ended Sunday?

New York Giants

Same rule applies here that applies for Dallas this week. The Philadelphia Eagles know that beating their divisional rival this weekend is the only way to keep their 2011 season on life support. They could roll over and die just as easily, but I'll think we'll see this wounded animal fight on Sunday night.
