WWE Survivor Series 2011: The Rock's Return on RAW Makes PPV Must-See Television

Tim DanielsNov 15, 2011

Note to all WWE superstars: Watch The Rock's performance on Monday Night RAW and then watch it again because that's how you steal a show.

It's amazing how the most electrifying man in entertainment can dominate a business he has only attended a handful of times over the past year. He was even able to rejuvenate a Boston crowd that became dull after Kevin Nash got out-mic'd by Santino.

Rocky's biggest advantage is his unmatched charisma.

His promos don't sound like they've been rehearsed tirelessly before the show off some script and they certainly aren't going to lack crowd reaction.

Who else could get a crowd to start chanting “boots to asses” repeatedly? Nobody.

The Rock's presence alone, especially after his triple Rock Bottom performance on Monday, makes Survivor Series a can't-miss event. And that's what the WWE has been banking on because the remaining card is sub-par so far.

By building up some animosity between Rock and John Cena, there is also the added dimension of teammate tension. It's unlikely The Rock will put his size 15 into “Cena's lady parts” on Sunday because WWE wants to keep the WrestleMania match special.

That said, there is definitely a twist building.

Whether it involves Mick Foley or a dirty win for The Miz and R-Truth, it's hard to imagine the match going exactly to plan with Rock and Cena winning cleanly. That would do too much damage to Awesome Truth's momentum to help two guys who really don't need it.

And it's that uncertainty that makes for great entertainment.

Regardless of the outcome, it's clear the Rock's millions (and millions) of fans are glad he's back. The captain of Team Bring It proved last night that he could rejoin the WWE tomorrow and wouldn't miss a beat. Sadly, that's only wishful thinking since the Hollywood money is too good to pass up.

If the WWE is going to regain its former glory, they'll need somebody who can command an audience like The Rock. Somebody whose presence alone if enough to excite the WWE Universe to the core.

Don't miss Survivor Series because Rocky will ensure it's one hell of a show.
