Shawn Michaels: Best Storyline Actor In WWE History
We all know HBK Shawn Michaels is a future WWE Hall of Famer, and he has been a multi-time World Champion. He competed in the first ladder match for a WWF Title with Razor Ramon(Scott Hall). He was in the first Iron Man match with Bret Hart.
He has been in some infamous factions. He was the leader of D-Generation X, until he got injured and left the WWE for a while. Triple H took over the group at that time, in 2006 they formed DX again with just Triple H and Shawn Michaels
HBK returned in 2002, and joined the NWO. Another great faction in wrestling history. But we remember him for all of that, but not the fact that he has been in some tremendous storylines.

And not only that, but he has been the best actor in them all. Sure it does take two to tango, but one man has to lead, and that has always been HBK.
We cannot forget the Montreal Screw Job, probably the most infamous storyline in WWE history. People thought was real, every bit of it. When in all actuality Bret Hart was leaving the WWE anyway for WCW.
He had to give up the WWF Title, and in the first ever Iron Man match he did, by losing to Michaels. People thought Hart was actually screwed over because he left the WWF so quickly after it happened.
Michaels still cannot go to Canada and not get booed, whether he is a face or a heel. He has had feuds with Diesel, better known as Kevin Nash. He has been in a feud with Hulk Hogan.
We cannot forget the match with Ric Flair that made Flair have to leave the WWE. Sort of like a smaller version of the Montreal Screw Job, that people do remember he did but do not hold over him as a burden.
And he has only been better since he returned from what people thought was a career ending back injury. During that time, he was in the first ever Elimination Chamber Match and won the World Championship.
He had reformed DX with Triple H and even had feuds where Triple H was sort of jealous of HBK annd HBK had to fight back against him. It was such an inspiring thing to watch when he never seemed to quit in the matches they had.
Sure it was storyline, but it was pretty cool to me. HBK has gotten even better over the past year. I think the HBK/Y2J storyline is one of the best I have seen in some time in the WWE.
Chris Jericho had thrown Michaels into the Jeritron and basically took out his eye. Michaels also really hurt himself in the feud. He fell out of the ring and when he did, he hit his shoulder.
He ended up hurting it and then he competed in a ladder match where Jericho put him in the Walls of Jericho on the top of the ladder, where he put a lot of pressure on HBK's shoulder area.
But now it seems this is the best he has ever acted since I have seen him. In this feud with JBL, he is supposed to be a broke guy who wants what all people his age want it seems.
He wants to put his kids through school and take care of his family and has do work for JBL to do so. A man who is very good financially as we all know. Micheals doesn't seem to be a heel in this though.
People want to portray him as that but he is not. He told us he was broke at Armageddon and although I knew it was not real, I believed him. He acted it out so well, and made it believable.
That is something I cannot say about many wrestlers. Sure John Cena is exciting and sometimes funny. Stone Cold and The Rock were the same way. But no one, and repeat no one has ever been a better dramatic actor in the WWE history than HBK.
I have always know that wrestling was scripted, at least when I finally knew what scripted was of course. And during that time there has only been two times where my heart felt for someone.
The first was when Ric Flair retired, and many have said the same thing there. But the next time was when HBK came out and said what he said at Armageddon.
You remember when you see a scary movie as a child with your parents and they tell you it is just a movie? Well I had to keep telling myself it was just scripted when I saw Armageddon.
I have never felt that way in a WWE storyline, ever. And it is hard to convince me: a guy who writes about the WWE all the time and tells people a lot of the time what is going to happen.
But somehow Shawn Michaels seems to do that, and that is why he is the best storyline actor I think in WWE history. He may not be the best actor to come out of the WWE and go into movies.
That belongs to The Rock, but the Rock was never as good of a storyline WWE actor as the Great HBK Shawn Michaels
