WWE: Why The Rock Is the Only Man Who Can Turn John Cena Heel

Giulio RomanoNov 14, 2011

Is everyone having a great Monday Night RAW so far?

J.R. back on commentary...that alone was worth its weight in gold.

With only six days left until the Survivor Series, it is really hard to believe at this point that Awesome Truth has any chance of winning this Sunday. Maybe Cena and The Rock will get the beating of their lives once Miz and Co. are allowed to get serious for a second.

Since this weekend's main event sets the stage for the upcoming WrestleMania confrontation between Superman and The Great One, how will it all begin?

We know The Rock is the huge favorite, the most popular and most beloved of the two. John Cena, no matter how many ways you look at it, will be the one receiving the boos in April, and that cannot be avoided. Isn't this a great time to give him a complete character makeover?

He is the top star on the roster and the legitimate face of the company, but he has become stale over the last few years. I, for one, cannot stand him having one more title match. I am about to throw myself off a cliff.

But wait a minute...what if John Cena begins his long, delicious turn to the dark side over the next few months? Being the star he is, it would honestly take someone of equal or greater power to help him over the edge.

That's where The Rock comes in. He could be the one to push him over...figuratively speaking, of course.

He must cast an immense shadow the likes no one could ever shed, not even the great John Cena.

Maybe all that rage and pent-up emotion will reach a boiling point, and he will just have to tap into it if he is ever going to defeat the People's Champion at WrestleMania. A character remodel may be what propels John Cena to immortality.

It did work for Hulk Hogan back in 1996. We were tired of his goody-goody act so he told us all to stick it and revolutionized the business. I think we are all in need of a little change in our lives...why not Superman?

By turning heel, he would not only get that new attitude and edge he needs to perfect his character, but he would most definitely get all those new fans who have been waiting for this moment for years. Nothing stops him from eventually returning to the light in the process, by then he should almost be 40 years old and be considered a legend.

Seems normal to me.

Some say it is wishful thinking, John Cena will never turn; he sells too much merchandise. Nothing happens for nothing, you know. I think The Rock will stick around in 2012—maybe not full-time but just enough to help fight off the new dark power that would have risen.

It certainly would make for some interesting television time, and at this point, the WWE needs all the help it can get. Time to think outside the box and start pushing some envelopes.

What do you say, WWE Universe...can The Rock help John Cena turn heel and make all our wishes come true?

Imagine the double-edged sword...Cena turns, and we all regret ever wanting it. Oh! The irony!
