Pacquiao vs. Marquez 3: Marquez Deserves Another Fight with Pacquiao

After three fights, the only thing known for sure is that these men need to fight one more time.

Whether Juan Manuel Marquez would agree to another fight considering the heartbreaking decisions he has lost to Manny Pacquiao the last two times is a whole other story.

Marquez has given his all in every one of their three fights and has felt as if he were robbed at the conclusion of each fight.

Emotionally, Marquez wants to show the world that he can beat Pacquiao, and Pac-Man wants to show the fans that the judges made the right call.

Boxing insider Cliff Rold told Boxing Scene about what he saw on Saturday night:

"Great rivals are that for a reason. These two just can’t master the other and know how to constantly push each other. Consider the flip in rounds five and six. Marquez schooled Pacquiao in the fifth, beating him to the punch and putting on a clinic of effective right hands. With a minute to rest, Pacquiao came out for the sixth and used a small step back to draw Marquez into some quick counters. Then came round nine, both men letting it all hang out, each landing combinations in turn, reminding all of what has been so special in their combat."

These two fighters have the answer for each other and the styles that each possesses is cancelled by the other’s talents.

While Manny loves to push the tempo of a fight, it’s Marquez counter-punching abilities that gets Pac-Man off balance and throws him off his game plan.

Both men know each other so well at this point that another fight would probably end in the same fashion the previous two have: a decision victory for Pac-Man shrouded in controversy.

If he can stomach the effort again, Marquez would be a fool not turn this fantastic trio of fights into one of the greatest feuds in boxing history with a fourth fight.
