Whats Up With R-Truth?
There are reports around many wrestling news sites that WWE officials are unhappy with the performances of R-Truth, currently wrestling on Smackdown.
R-Truth (aka Ron Killings, K-Kwik from previous WWE gimmick, and K-Krush in TNA) had a lot of air time on Smackdown airing his vignettes, and it seemed he would receive a big push in the roster.
He had a few early wins against not too shabby opponents, and even received a few shots at Shelton Benjamin’s US Championship not too long ago. So why are the WWE unhappy with him?

Well apparently he can do the flashy moves well but needs to improve on his basics. Now frankly this shocked me.
I mentioned earlier the fact that R-Truth has wrestled in the WWE before, and in TNA, and has been learning the trade for roughly 10 years now. So does it not surprise anyone else that the WWE are questioning this mans basic wrestling abilities? A former two time NWA Champion, three time NWA/TNA Tag Champion, and two time WWF Hardcore Champion is being questioned about his ability to perform basic wrestling moves?
So, if it was always the case that his basic wrestling ability was bad, why would the WWE hire someone they knew would not be able to perform basic moves? Or did they just not look at Ron too much before hiring him, and assume by his credentials and time in the business that he would be able to perform. If that is the case they have nothing to complain about, and can only blame themselves for hiring him.
Now I’m not saying they are wrong because I have watched R-Truth since his arrival back in to the WWE, and although I really enjoy the gimmick, frankly apart from his corkscrew maneuvers I don’t see a lot else that he has done well since his return.
Putting R-Truth’s basic wrestling aside for a moment, and assuming he has the ability, what could be the issue with his wrestling?
The moves that Ron Killings can perform, or has performed in the past I should say, are quite impressive. He even used a 450 splash in his early TNA career. So is it the case that in his "older" age (36) he can't perform as well, or is it the WWE’s fault for not instructing him properly and allowing him to be a better all round wrestler?
I can’t see that his age should be a factor in the matter, as there are many in the WWE that are older than Killings, and are still at the top of their game.
So, could it be the case that the WWE try and direct R-Truth’s wrestling performances in a way that doesn’t allow him to make the simple moves look good? Honestly, I don’t know how this could be the case but I can’t see how else it would happen.
I would love to see R-Truth receive a continued push and start shelling out some real top class performances in the ring, because I think he has it in him. But this issue needs to be resolved first or the WWE may just sweep him under the carpet. Because the WWE doesn’t seem to be taking crap at the minute, and if you’re dead wood, you get cut.
What does anyone else think of R-Truth’s wrestling since his return in the WWE? Should he be pushed more or is the gimmick a flop?
