WWE News: New CM Punk Documentary DVD on the Way

"Certain to break more records than Frank Gore does bones!  More action-packed than a Chyna film!  Better received than a Frank Miller blog post!  It's CM Punk: The Movie!"

Okay, so I doubt that will be the tag line, but a documentary is on its way.

The Chicago Tribune noted a quick blurb.

"Heads up: WWE is filming a straight-to-DVD documentary on WWE superstar and Chicago resident CM Punk. The documentary, which doesn’t have a name yet, will be released sometime in 2012."

Normally, when the WWE does a documentary of one of their talents, it does not take overly long to produce and release.  The release date will probably be in the first half of 2012.

It's a little surprising the WWE waited so long to produce a DVD about one of its best talents.  Hell, "John Morrison: Rock Star" was released before this even came about. 

To be fair, though, Punk was going through his contractual issues when the WWE was producing Morrison's DVD.

It's rumored that the WWE is still looking for a good movie script for the Second City Saint, so expect this to be the first of many outings for the "Best In The World," much to the consternation of Chris Jericho and his Twitter account, I'm sure.
