Week 11 Waiver Wire: Revealing the Hidden Gems

Ryan PhillipsNov 14, 2011

In Week 10 of the NFL season, two guys stood out to me as possible fantasy difference-makers that could still be available in your league. Both are wide receivers, and both should still be free for you to grab.

The first guy who caught my eye was San Diego Chargers rookie wideout Vincent Brown. The San Diego State product made a few eye-popping grabs against the Oakland Raiders Thursday night, on his way to a five-catch, 97-yard performance with a touchdown to boot.

Brown also had a second touchdown catch called back on a questionable review decision, but regardless, the play he made on the ball was impressive. With the Chargers throwing the ball so much, Brown is sure to see his number of targets increase as the season goes on.

All season, quarterback Philip Rivers and the rest of the Chargers have raved about Brown's ability and his work ethic. Now, it's paying off. In his past two games alone, the San Diego State product has nine catches for 177 yards. I expect that to continue down the stretch of the season. You should be attempting to pick him up as you read this.

Baltimore Ravens tight end Ed Dickson had a breakout game on Sunday, hauling in 10 passes for 79 yards and two scores during his team's 22-17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The second-year tight end out of Oregon has excellent hands and can be a weapon if the Ravens actually decide to use him.

A consistent tight end who gets you consistent points is really hard to find in fantasy football, and after Sunday, it's clear that Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco is comfortable looking Dickson's direction. It might be worth it to jump on this train and ride it for a while. Dickson looks like a good bet to score some points.
