WWE: 20 Craziest Wrestling Fan Incidents

Ryan DilbertNov 17, 2011

Wrestlers wrestle while the fans watch.  That's how it should go and it usually does.

Every once in a while, though, some idiot thinks it'll be cool to hop in the ring and improvise from there.  As you'll see, things don't go well for these overly excited fans.

There are also times when wrestlers forget who they're supposed to be lacing into and turn their attention on unlucky fans.

Inebriated fans will be handcuffed and security will try their hand at reverse chin locks, all while the cameras roll.

20. Old Lady Wants a Piece of Hogan

1 of 20

Turning heel and becoming Hollywood Hogan certainly made some fans angry.

Perhaps none were more enraged at the Hulkster than this senior citizen who looks pretty darn close to attempting to tear his eyes out.

She takes a few swings at him but apparently needs some work on her technique.  They all miss wildly.

Hogan milks it for all its worth—it is definitely great television.

19. Undertaker

2 of 20

This is the most restraint you will see on any of these videos.

Some lunatic hops into a ring with the Undertaker, a bad choice by any stretch of the imagination.

As you will see further along in this list, this kind of action usually results in getting popped by the wrestler, choked by security guards and then being escorted out.

The Dead Man could have easily knocked this guy out, but he just calmly pushes him away.

18. Tarzan Boy

3 of 20

This is the only Mexican entry on the list, but we can assume that the Luchadors see their fair share of borrachos trying to pop the wrestlers.

Tarzan Boy has just won his match.  He looks up and a skinny punk is taking drunk kicks at him.

Would you like to guess what happens next?  If you said he got clocked before being thrown out, you are correct.

Poor dude had too many Coronas and didn't think things through.

17. Streaking for Cena

4 of 20

At WrestleMania 23, during a match between John Cena and Shawn Michaels, a goofball fan believed that this was going to be his WrestleMania moment.

Security immediately locked down this situation.

The guy wanted badly to rip his clothes off at a televised event, knowing full well he'd get kicked out and arrested.  Everyone has their dream, I guess.

The funniest part is that Jerry Lawler had just said in reference to fans having to choose between Michaels and Cena, "I don’t think many of these fans are going to sit here and be complacent."

Maybe the dude heard it and took it to heart.

16. Triple H vs. Drunk Guy

5 of 20

When Triple H sees this potential homicidal maniac coming at him (at 2:30 in the video), he steps out of the ring to let security do their thing.

This fan looks really happy with himself, thinking he scared the Game.

Maybe it's the confidence born from that moment or the confidence born from too much booze, but the fan decides to fight off the security guards.  You sir, are no Stone Cold.

Triple H leans in when the fan is restrained and tells him something.  Was it a life lesson, a jovial greeting or something you're not allowed to say on television?  Your guess is as good as mine.

15. Triple H Round 2

6 of 20

A thin and foolish fan jumped the railings at a WWE event and tried to attack Triple H.

Personally, if I'm going to take on a WWE superstar, I might choose a smaller, less intimidating guy to pick on.  Santino or Heath Slater would in all likelihood still kick his teeth in, but what shot does he have against the King of Kings?

Triple H looks mighty pissed and is ready to take on the fan's pals as well, if need be.

14. NWO

7 of 20

The next sap on the list had a plan to slide in the ring and do who knows what.  Apparently he gets tuckered out before making it past the ropes.

It's likely he was a huge Hogan mark and felt betrayed that the Hulkster had turned heel.

Kevin Nash has no problem kicking him while he's down.  Scott Hall finishes him off.

As always, Bobby “"The Brain" Heenan has something funny to say about these incidents.

"Well, he didn’t last long," he said.

13. Jericho vs. Stone Cold vs. Some Dude

8 of 20

Chris Jericho is about to go up against Stone Cold Steve Austin, a match that would no doubt rock the house.  What's the best way to enjoy the show?

You can a) cheer from your seat or b) get in one sloppy push on Y2J before he and security knock the wind out of you and you spend the rest of the evening not watching the match you paid for.

Well, the fan at least looks really happy being a part of the show for that brief moment.  The stupidity begins at 1:20 in the video.

12. Heartbreak Kid’s Entrance

9 of 20

Shawn Michaels heads to the ring like he does so many times in his outlandish outfits and trademark swagger.  A few excited fans topple over a barricade.

Luckily nobody was hurt, and it was just a silly moment instead of the genesis of a lawsuit.  This incident is certainly one of the reasons WWE switched to those much more sturdy black barricades.

Not sure if Jerry Lawler's joyful maniacal laughter or the goofy look on Michaels' face is the best part about this clip.

11. Wanna-Be Ref

10 of 20

Another fan decides to jump the railing and interrupt a John Cena Match—can't say I blame him.

The battle between the fan and the security guard probably ended up being more entertaining anyway.  The security performs a pretty awesome World's Strongest Slam.

It was smart of him to dress like a referee to camouflage himself, even if it wouldn't last.  It was dumb of him to possibly be banned from all future WWE events.

10. Jeff Jarrett Is No Punk

11 of 20

If you're going to go into the ring and take on a wrestler, you might think Jeff Jarrett is someone you can take.

An overeager fan in a mask—with likely more than a few beers in him—thinks he's tougher than the former world champ.  Jarrett has one of the best performances of his career and smashes this dude’s face in.

Two things are clear after watching this low-quality video:

1) TNA security is not as quick on the draw as WCW or WWE's.

2) This guy has the absolute worst friends.

9. Bischoff on Nitro

12 of 20

This fan chose a chaotic moment to jump into the action.  Eric Bischoff has just lured Larry Zbyszko into in ambush by Konnan and others.

He certainly looks like he is going after Bischoff.  Perhaps he just wanted to congratulate him on surpassing WWE in the ratings war.

The fan's plan quickly goes awry, and he begins to get stomped on by a host of nWo members.

Some of these loonies at least have a cool story to tell.  The "Buff Bagwell gave me a concussion" story is probably not worth it.

8. Raven's Hair

13 of 20

I didn’t like Raven's promos all that much, but apparently a wild-eyed bucket of trash hated them to the point that he was willing to get arrested to stop him from talking.

Some combination of intoxication and stupidity inspired this guy to pull Raven by the hair and risk getting shellacked by a guy who beats people up for a living.

Raven shrugs it off pretty quickly and tries to restart his rant.  He would have, too, had his microphone worked.

7. Randy Savage Stomps a Mud Hole

14 of 20

On an episode of Nitro, a beefy fellow decided to make the match between Randy Savage and Booker T a Triple Threat Match.

Many of these incidents see the wrestlers back off and wait for security to grab the guy.

The Macho Man is having none of that.  He immediately goes to work stomping the guy on the head and, if given time, would have probably given him an atomic drop as well.

It's incredibly smooth how the announcers start connecting the incident to the madness surrounding Savage and the unpredictability of Nitro.

6. Macho Man Again

15 of 20

Was it something about Savage himself that attracted whack jobs, or was the WCW security that lax?

Another fan got into the ring during the action, and Savage does not hesitate to show him how it feels to take a bump.

Savage pulls a MMA-worthy takedown on the kid. Right before he loses consciousness, the fan thinks to himself, "this is the best moment of my life."

5. Shawn Michaels vs. a Battery

16 of 20

Sure, it was immature for Shawn Michaels to walk out of the ring mid-promo after clocked in the head with a battery, but the fan who threw it is a moron.

Show the Heartbreak Kid some respect.  It'd be much tougher to pull something like this off with tightened security at arenas everywhere.

I hope someone sitting next to this guy super-kicked him off his feet.

4. Ref on Nitro

17 of 20

If you’re going to interrupt and ruin a match, why do it when Dean Malenko is in the ring?  Let the man do his thing.

Not sure what the fan who ran in planned on doing, but certainly getting kicked in the face and then manhandled by a ref was not in his plans.

Even with the camera back on the wrestling, the announcers go on about the skills of the ref.

"Did you see that front face lock?"

3. Sabu Goes Crazy

18 of 20

During a show in Japan, a fan gets too touchy with ECW legend, Sabu.  Yanking on Sabu's turban is not quite as bad as tugging on Superman's cape, but it's certainly not a good idea.

Sabu goes nuts and hops the barricade, delivering an elbow and some right hands to a stunned fan who now has the best story to tell all his buddies.

It's quite possible Sabu got the wrong guy and some 16-year-old Japanese fan has no clue why he's seeing stars.

2. Ladder Match

19 of 20

Rob Van Dam is out for the count.  Eddie Guerrero climbs up the ladder.  Will he make it to the top?

Whatever the plan was, we can assume it wasn't for a loopy fan to run in and push the ladder over.

He gets immediately decked by Latino Heat and dragged off by security.  Rob Van Dam lifts his head and is mighty confused.

At least this fan can tell his bros at the bar, "Man, I got punched in the face by Eddie Guerrero."

1. The Jericho Incident

20 of 20

Harassed as he heads to his car, Chris Jericho seems calm enough at first.  People are vomiting their crazy on him like people do rock stars and movie stars.

I love the man, but he's just a dude.  Let him walk to his car.

Jericho had just done an anti-Canadian promo, and some fans took it to heart.

Unfortunately, a particularly eager fan wants a photo and won't take "no" for an answer.  When she gets too close (and allegedly spits on him), Jericho snaps and punches her.

A mini riot ensues.

This is the only incident on the list that made it to TMZ, and that helps catapult it to No. 1.

Warning: There is plenty of language in the video that is not for little ears.
