Pacquiao vs. Marquez 3: Both Fighters Deserve a Fourth Fight
The third fight between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez was not an accurate representation of these fighters, and both deserve a fourth.
Neither fighter wants to leave their trilogy in doubt, and right now there is no clear winner. The only way to decide that would be a fourth fight.
Why Marquez deserves a fourth fight
Marquez has had some serious problems with the first three fights. The first fight, which was ruled a draw, appeared to be his, and he had no problem telling reporters that he had been robbed.
Then, the second fight was ruled a Pacquiao win, but Marquez was once again angered by the judges' decision.
Last night it appeared that Marquez would win the fight easily. He dominated for the first six rounds but then collapsed in the second half. Marquez was winning heading into the final round, and it could have been scored in his favor, but the judges all favored Pac-Man, giving him the win.
Marquez still believes himself the better fighter, and there's no indication that Pac-Man is really that much better. As long as Marquez is willing to fight he should get another chance at beating Pacquiao.
Why Pacquiao deserves a fourth fight
Manny Pacquiao is the better fighter of these two. I firmly believe that he has deserved his victories, and that it was just rust holding him back in the early rounds.
However, Pac-Man has to prove that, and he deserves to get the chance to do so. If he were not rusty he would have won, and he wants to show that.
Marquez is also the only opponent Pacquiao has any animosity toward, and he wants to knock him out. Pac-Man deserves another try to show that he's the best fighter in the world by doing so.
Both fighters deserve another chance, and if they both want to fight we will see a fourth epic fight.
