Pacquiao vs. Marquez: Why a 4th Fight Must Go Down in 2012
For those skeptics who thought that the final meeting between WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez would be boring, I bet they’re clamoring for a fourth meeting now.
With another controversial finish in this trilogy, I don’t think the fourth fight would really accomplish anything but maybe another ending that leaves questions in people’s minds.
While it wouldn’t be the best option coming out of this victory, with Floyd Mayweather constantly dragging his feet, it may be the most realistic option.
Everyone wants to see Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao, but the odds of that happening get smaller as everyday passes.
The legitimate questions about how close the scoring was for Pacquiao and Marquez makes another fight the possible conclusion to the series that has become one of the best in the history of boxing.
Manny has been able to run through his opponents over the last six years since his last loss to Erik Morales, and he has really only had one roadblock.
Juan Manuel Marquez.
The reason the duo would have to make sure their rematch happened almost immediately would be cause of the age of Marquez.
At 38 years old, waiting the normal four years as Pac-Man’s customs have dictated with JMM in the past just wouldn’t fly.
If there is no Mayweather on the horizon, give the fans the conclusion that they have been clamoring for since this trilogy began.
A fourth fight in this serious could make it the most interesting feud in the history of boxing, even more than legends Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali.
