Pacquiao vs. Marquez Undercard: Casamayor Should Retire After Being Outclassed
Joel Casamayor should hang the gloves up after his embarrassing display against Tim Bradley. He is genuinely a dirty fighter and he continuously tried to engage Bradley in this type of fight. Showing his professionalism and poise, Bradley just systematically destroyed Casamayor. He made the 40-year-old look every day of his age.
Bradley's performance should serve notice to Amir Khan, Manny Pacquiao, Juan Manuel Marquez and any other potential opponent. Bradley was in outstanding shape, his body-punching was vicious and produced one of the knockdowns in the fight.
From the outset, Casamayor looked old, slow and overmatched. His surly attitude and edginess just served to make him look just that much more vulnerable. It seemed Bradley sensed it as well, but he kept his cool and systematically wore the veteran down.
Bradley added to his very modest KO total, this being only his 12th stoppage. He moved to an un-blemished 28-0 with his performance.
There were some concerns about headbutts, as both fighters have been accused of using their noggins for weapons in the past. That wasn't the case on Saturday night for Bradley, as his fists were more than enough. Casamayor, on the other hand, did resort to a variety of illegal tactics, especially as the outcome became more and more apparent.
To no avail, Bradley moves on and hopefully Casamayor moves out.
