Pacquiao vs. Marquez Fight Time: Previews and Start Times for Full Card
Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez square off as the headline match of a four-fight card that starts at 9:00pm ET tonight on HBO pay-per-view. Here’s a look at what to expect from all four bouts:
Luis Cruz vs. Juan Carlos Burgos
Undefeated Cruz will be in for an action-packed fight against the attacking Burgos. In 19 fights, Cruz has yet to face an opponent as talented as the former featherweight champ.
With Cruz more accustomed to the bout’s 130-lb weight class, though, he’ll come out on top behind superior power.
Mike Alvarado vs. Breidis Prescott
Prescott, noted for beating lightweight champ Amir Khan three years ago, hasn’t been as effective since moving up to junior welterweight. He won’t provide much of an obstacle to 31-0 Alvarado, a harder puncher who can still box.
Timothy Bradley Jr. vs. Joel Casamayor
Casamayor, 12 years older than the unbeaten Bradley, won’t make it easy for his aggressive opponent. He’s a defensive fighter who will punish Bradley’s tendency to lead with his head.
In the end, though, Bradley will retain his WBO light welterweight belt in a grueling decision.
Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez
The main event is the third meeting between the two fighters, who have gone the distance twice (a draw and a split decision for Pacquiao, respectively). Marquez feels like he was robbed by the judges in each case, and will be out to win this one decisively.
Nevertheless, Pacquiao—far more experienced and successful at 144 pounds—has too much power to go down here. He’ll finally get the KO in the third, and presumably final, matchup.
