Week 10 Start Em Sit Em: Defenses That Are Going to Get Lit Up This Weekend

Jeff ChaseNov 12, 2011

One of the most unpredictable positions to choose from on your NFL fantasy roster is your defense. Anything can happen, and besides the kicker, the defense is one position that relies on more then simply one guy making plays.

In Week 10, there are many defenses that we can already tell that will get lit up on the field this weekend. We have a lot of high powered offenses going up against defenses that are just terrible. There is no telling at how lopsided some of these games could get, but it is best you avoid these teams so that you don't suffer with a lopsided fantasy score. Here are the teams that you must keep away from your fantasy lineup.

Seattle Seahawks

While the Baltimore Ravens have been a team that scores relatively high on offense with 26 PPG, they are playing against a Seahawks team that has been allowing 23 PPG. The Seahawks do not stand a chance against the Ravens, as Joe Flacco and Ray Rice will expose this team. Not only that, the Ravens defense is going to stop the Seahawks easily, allowing the Ravens to have great field position all game.

If you were even considering to start the Seahawks, you better rethink your logic now because this is a defense that is going to get destroyed on Sunday. The Seahawks let up 34 points to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 8, and Week 10 will not be any easier.

Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals haven't been terrible on defense this year, as their offense has been more of the problem. The thing is, Kevin Kolb likely will not be starting and John Skelton could potentially be a turnover machine. The Philadelphia Eagles will capitalize on every chance they will have, and they will punish the Cardinals on Sunday.

The Eagles desperately need to win this game, and Michael Vick and LeSean McCoy will do whatever it takes to score at will. This team has all the offensive weapons, and ultimately they will run all over the Cardinals. The Cardinals are allowing 116.7 YPG on the ground, and that spells trouble when you are talking about Vick and McCoy.

Pittsburgh Steelers

There is no denying the greatness that is the Pittsburgh Steelers, but against the high powered Cincinnati Bengals' offense they may let up a lot of points. The Steelers will likely walk out of this road game with a victory, but they are in danger of rookies Andy Dalton and A.J. Green lighting them up a few times.

The Steelers will be stand strong, but Dalton will make things happen and will at least try and make this game close. Dalton has thrown seven interceptions this season,  but consistency will be key in this game. Look for Dalton to at least expose this Steelers' secondary for at least two scores.
