Pacquiao vs. Marquez 3: Pac-Man Won't Let Third Time Be the Charm
They say the third time is the charm when it comes to overcoming obstacles, but there is a strong left hand in the way of Juan Manuel Marquez overcoming his biggest obstacle.
That left hand belongs to Manny Pacquiao.
In their third meeting, Pacquiao will try to hold off the last ditched effort from Marquez as he tries to prove his worth and shock the world.
Marquez views this as the twilight of his career and realizes this is his last chance to make a splash. That makes him dangerous.
"At 144 pounds it’s going to be different. I’ve improved my boxing and my power. Everything is going to be different. The last two fights helped me a lot. I learned a lot, especially fighting a counterpuncher, a boxer. I’m more experienced now and I’m a much better fighter, too.
"
The idea of an improved Manny Pacquiao should be terrifying for a man like Marquez who couldn’t handle the Manny he saw before.
While there wasn’t to build from in the Shane Mosley fight, Pac-Man has reasserted his dominance in the gym and has trained harder and smarter for this fight than any other in the past.
Marquez has really bulked up for this fight in preparation for a war, but the idea that he may have slowed himself down could put him at risk to be susceptible to Pac-Man’s speed.
Either way, Marquez’s comments about being robbed in their first two meetings has struck a nerve with Pacquiao. Pac-Man will deny Marquez his destiny.
