Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez: Why Pac-Man Will Get the KO Tonight

Alex HallNov 12, 2011

The third meeting between Manny "Pac-Man" Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez is without question the most anticipated fight so far this year for boxing. It also provides Pacquiao the greatest stage to knock out his rival.

It's no secret these two have had some great close battles in the past, one of which ended in a draw. But Pacquiao has looked nothing but elite since the last time these two met in Las Vegas back in 2008.

In fact, in his four battles after fighting Marquez for the second time, Pac-Man defeated his opponents either by knockout or technical knockout. Pacquiao is also six years younger than Marquez, the faster of the two and the most experienced when it comes to battling at the 140-pound range.

The Mexican born Marquez has only fought at the 140-pound class one other time in his career, which was in his lopsided loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The Mayweather fight was Marquez's only loss since the last time these two met but Pacquiao has done nothing but hold the gold since their second fight and has ESPN's Dan Rafeal claiming he has  dominated the Welterweight division in recent years.

Due to Marquez's inexperience at fighting at his current weight, along with the fact Pacquiao has been at the tip top of his game since going to the 140-pound range, he should be able to command the fight tonight and eventually put Marquez down for the count and win this by way of KO.
