Week 10 Start Em Sit Em Under the Radar QBs Best Left Alone

Jeff ChaseNov 12, 2011

With no teams on a bye in Week 10 of the NFL, many teams will not be hard to find a starting quarterback to insert in their lineup this week. For those of you in who are in a bind, or perhaps play in a two quarterback league, there are still many quarterbacks who you must avoid this week.

There are a lot of great teams going on the road, which spells trouble for many teams' starting quarterbacks.  These tough match ups make it extremely difficult to approach these games with a positive feeling about your passer, so it would be best to let them grab some bench this week.

These are the starting quarterbacks that you should not start in Week 10.

Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals

Week 10 Opponent: Pittsburgh Steelers

Why You Must Sit Him

While the Bengals' quarterback Dalton has been pretty stellar this season, Week 10 doesn't seem like the ideal time to give him a shot as he will be taking on the tough Steelers' defense. Dalton is a risk because he has yet to play a defense as strong as the Steelers, so it would be best to not insert him your starting line up this week. If you are desperate, I say proceed with caution. Dalton will have his time to shine this season, but Week 10 looks like one of those times that he will not.

Tarvaris Jackson, Seattle Seahawks

Week 10 Opponent: Baltimore Ravens

Why You Must Sit Him

Jackson and the Seattle Seahawks will be hosting the Ravens' this weekend, and the thought alone should make you sit him. If that wasn't enough, the Ravens' are only allowing 16.3 PPG against high powered offense. The Seahawks are only averaging 15.3 PPG this season, and don't expect them to put up many points, especially through the air. Jackson is a guy that has the potential, especially with Sidney Rice at receiver, this against the Ravens is not a smart move for Week 10.

Alex Smith, San Francisco 49ers

Week 10 Opponent: New York Giants

Why You Must Sit Him

The 49ers' Alex Smith is always a risk, but don't get sold just yet on the 49ers winning ways. He is still not a quarterback to start, especially against the Giants. He still has much to prove, but perhaps if he succeeds in Week 10, he may finally become a quarterback that people may consider a starter in the near future. The 49ers have yet to find any consistency in their wide receivers, so that also must develop in order for Smith to become a solid option.
