Week 10 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Percy Harvin and More WRs to Start/Sit

Jake MartinNov 12, 2011

Percy Harvin is a fading star and fantasy owners should sit him in Week 10.

When it comes to owners starting wide receivers not named Greg Jennings, Calvin Johnson or Steve Smith, it can be a lot like rolling the dice—and who would to take a risk on a player that has more fumbles than touchdowns this year?

With that in mind, these are the wide receivers fantasy owners should bench and start this weekend.

Bench: Percy Harvin

1 of 5

Look, I like rookie quarterback Chris Ponder, and I think Percy Harvin is one hell of a player, but he’s just not producing this year.

Harvin has the ability to make men miss and high-step into the end zone at any given moment; that is, at least when he is healthy.

Word around the campfire is that Harvin is still dealing with his rib injury, and it’s too big of a gamble for owners to start.

Start: Laurent Robinson

2 of 5

Go to your league’s free-agent wire and pick this guy up right now. Chances are he’s still on the table, so you might luck up and get him.

The past two weeks, Laurent Robinson has produced two touchdowns and had a 100-yard receiving game against the Philadelphia Eagles two weeks ago.

Yeah, that’s right, he did it against the “Dream Team.”

With Robinson producing quality numbers, look for Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys to call his number again this weekend against the Buffalo Bills.

Bench: Mike Williams

3 of 5

There’s no denying that Mike Williams is having a disappointing season, but I look for matters to get even worse against the Houston Texans this weekend.

Williams has 363 yards receiving this year but only one touchdown.Talk about struggling to produce.

Going against a defense that gives up only 182.6 yards a game through the air doesn’t spell well for Williams and any fantasy owner brave enough to start him.

Start: Kevin Walter

4 of 5

Staying with the same game, fantasy owners should start Kevin Walter as the Houston Texans go up against a reeling Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense.

The Bucs are 28th in the league when it comes to stopping the pass, so expect Matt Schaub to have a field day throwing the ball.

Walter will be on the receiving end of a few touchdowns, and fantasy owners who started him will rejoice every time he gets his hands on the football.

Bench: Hakeem Nicks

5 of 5

Yes, Eli Manning and the New York Giants are finding their grove, but they are on a collision course to meet the San Francisco 49ers this week.

Because of how dominant the 49ers rush defense is, this will put even more pressure on Manning—and Hakeem Nicks’ production will suffer as a result.

Be wise: bench Nicks.
