Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez: The Official Drinking Game

Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez promises to be an action-packed event filled with excitement. Both fighters have an intense rivalry that has brewed over two previous fierce engagements.

What could possibly make this better? Well alcohol, of course. (Drink responsibly.)

Alcohol brands know that boxing and drinking go quite well together, which is why Pacquiao has an endorsement deal with Hennessy and Tecate is offering rebates for Pacquiao vs. Marquez with purchase of a 12-pack.

To help make drinks and boxing go well together, I present to you a drinking game.

For those that don't know, drinking games are created by selecting a series of events that commonly occur in a sport and taking a shot or more of alcohol every time these events occur.

These events are called "Key Actions" or "Key Words."

Among a group of friends, the person who stops drinking first must pick up the tab.

Though I'll be making my own suggestions for shots to drink, those playing can drink whatever they like so long as they do so when prompted by the key actions.

So for those of you that will be watching Pacquiao versus Marquez III with friends and beer at home or from a sports bar, I bring to you the official Pacquiao vs. Marquez Drinking Game.

"Bang!"

Down a shot of Jack Daniels for every time Jim Lampley says "Bang!" as Pacquiao punches.

Whether Pacquiao lands or not is besides the point.

"Down Goes Marquez!"

Drink a shot of tequila every time Lampley yells, "Down Goes Marquez!" after Pacquiao knocks him down.

If you placed a bet on Marquez to win, drink two shots of tequila instead.

And if Marquez doesn't beat the ten-count, drink another shot.

"Hard Right Hand"

Chug a bottle of Dos Equis for every time Lampley says Marquez landed a "HARD RIGHT HAND" as Marquez lands a right hand.

If one of these hard right hands finally takes Pacquiao off his feet (a long shot indeed), down two more.

"Hard Left Hand by Pacquiao!"

For every time Lampley says, "HARD LEFT HAND BY PACQUIAO!" or some variation of the saying such as "PACQUIAO COMES BACK WITH A HARD LEFT," down a can of Tecate beer.

Pacquiao's Progress

If Jim Lampley tells everyone that Pacquiao has progressed so much since their last fight or reminds us of Pacquiao's progression, drink a shot of Jack Daniels.

Pacquiao Is a Southpaw

Down a shot of Southern Comfort for every time Lampley reminds the viewer that Pacquiao is a southpaw.

Down another shot for every comparison Lampley makes between Pacquiao and other southpaws.

"Harold, How Do You Have It?"

Drink a shot of Scotch for every time Lampley asks, "Harold, how do you have it?"

If you disagree with Lederman's scorecard, take another shot.

"Let's Go to Michael Buffer!"

When Lampley says, "Let's go to Michael Buffer" whether it's for the ring introductions or the official scorecard announcements, down a jagerbomb to signal the start and end of a beautiful night of boxing.
