NFL Picks Week 10: Teams In Desperation Mode That Will Achieve Victory

Michael MillNov 11, 2011

As we enter Week 10 of the 2011 NFL season, there are many teams that are already hopeless when it comes to the possibility of making a run towards the playoffs.

There are just as many teams who are just one or two losses away from joining them in that category.

Some of them are teams that nobody would have expected to be in this situation at the start of the season.

Although hope is fading, not all is lost for these teams.

Here are three teams in desperation mode that will walk away with victories this weekend.

Philadelphia Eagles (3-5)

When the season began, I think it's safe to say that almost all of America had the Eagles' "dream team" as a lock for a playoff spot in the NFC.

Now it appears that they are just a loss or two away from elimination in the race.

The offense has been inconsistent, the defense has been atrocious and hope is fading in the City of Brotherly Love.

For the Eagles to stay alive there is a strong consensus that they need to basically win out from here to the end of the season.

Although chances for that occurring are slim, they should be able to handle a much lesser Arizona team this weekend.

Denver Broncos (3-5)

Things have not looked good for the Denver Broncos early in the season.

After the team quickly fell apart to a 1-4 record, Tim Tebow was announced the starting quarterback for the Broncos.

He is 2-1 as the starter. After this weekend he could be 3-1 and have the Broncos right back in the chase in the AFC West.

Tebow and the Denver offense looked solid last week running the option offense. If they stick to the scheme that fits Tebow, they could make a serious run towards the end of the season.

This game is a must-win for Denver. Taking down the Chiefs will put them right back in the race for the division. A loss erases almost all hope.

The Chiefs had things running at full speed for a few weeks, but after a horrific 31-3 loss against the winless Dolphins a week ago it appears the Broncos could walk all over them.

Cleveland Browns (3-5)

It's tough to say that a 3-5 team has been impressive, but the Cleveland Browns have been just that during the start of the season.

What the team has struggled with on offense they have made up for on the defensive side of the ball.

However, being in the toughest division in football doesn't make things easy for them. Another loss will surely eliminate them from contention.

They should be able to stay alive at least another week. They take on the St. Louis Rams this weekend, who have actually been one of the most disappointing teams in the league.

The Browns should be able to get just enough done to live another day.
