Pacquiao vs. Marquez Knockout: Wiser Pac-Man Will Win in Unanimous Fashion
The first two times Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez stepped into the ring with one another, Marquez had a distinct mental advantage over Pacquiao. This time around, the tides have turned and Pacquiao will wreck Marquez—mentally and physically.
Pacquiao is a physical freak and his wherewithal in the ring is uncanny. Both fighters put their mental toughness on display in the first two editions of their soon to be trilogy of fights, but Pacquiao has gained the experience he lacked that allowed Marquez to torment him.
This time around, the fight won't even be close. Pacquiao is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world and Marquez has surrendered any edge that he had in the previous two fights.
As long as Pacquiao is able to remain focused on the task at hand and manages not to get caught up in the hype about a theoretical dream fight with Floyd Mayweather, he's going to be able to put Marquez away with ease.
Part of the draw of this fight is that Marquez is one of the only fighters to be able to test Pacquiao. He's got experience in the ring with Pacquiao and he knows what's coming.
That's a two-way street, though. Since they last squared off around three years ago, Pacquiao has only gotten stronger and wiser, while Marquez has regressed.
Pacquiao is stepping into the ring with a worse version of the man he has faced twice. The man he thinks he is preparing for is a shell of the fighter he faced the first time around, and this fight is bound to end in unanimous decision.
