Week 10 Start Em Sit Em: Jackie Battle, Marshawn Lynch and Must Sit Backs

Jackie Battle was fun for a few weeks, but now we know why he was the third-stringer to start the season. Here are his rushing yards in the last four games: 140, 76, 70, 49.

While the Denver Broncos don’t have the greatest run defense, I expect them to contain the small and hesitant Battle. When you consider backs have failed to reach the 100-yard mark in six of eight games thus far against the Denver defense, don’t bother with Battle.

Here are three other backs to steer clear from in Week 10:

Marshawn Lynch- Seattle Seahawks

Lynch is infuriating for fantasy owners. He has three games of 10 or more fantasy points (ESPN standard scoring) four games of duds.

He is dealing with a bad-back that flares up randomly (remember when he was supposed to play against the Browns and was scratched at the last second?!) and this week the Seahawks are facing the No. 1 defense in the NFL. The Ravens are going to shutdown the run and force Tarvaris Jackson to beat hem.

Good idea.

Jonathan Stewart- Carolina Panthers

The Panthers running game is not to be reliable upon unless that player’s last name is Newton.

Stewart has yet to run for 70 yards this season and has a grand total of two touchdowns. Newton is the goal line back and I don’t anticipate that changing anytime soon, especially against a physical Titans defense.

Consider trading Stewart at this point…he’s nothing more than an emergency flex play for the remainder of the season.

Cedric Benson- Cincinnati Bengals

The Steelers have historically played Benson well in his Bengals career, never rushing for more than 70 yards in six career games. They are able to suffocate the line and avoid his patient cutback that makes him so effective.

Already experiencing goal line woes this season, pass on Benson for this week alone.
