Pacquiao vs Marquez Predictions: Why Fight Won't Live Up to Expectations
As much as we would all love to see Pacquiao vs. Marquez III generate the same sort of excitement that the first two did, this lopsided battle is going to be just as disappointing as Mayweather vs. Ortiz.
Manny Pacquiao is in a class of his own and the only fighter that could potentially measure up to him is Floyd Mayweather.
This notion that a 38-year-old Marquez is going to come in and produce the same sort of fight he did in Pacquiao vs. Marquez II is absurd.
He's got the experience and he knows exactly what to expect against Pacquiao. That's where the optimism ends.
Pacquiao is the very best pound-for-pound fighter in the world and Marquez has gone from seasoned to old since the last time they met around three years ago.
Marquez does not have a distinct mental advantage and he's grossly outmatched physically. If Marquez does manage to make it into the later rounds of this fight, he's going to struggle to keep up with the younger Pacquiao.
The days of this matchup producing a close fight are long gone. The second edition of this trilogy of fights seems like light years ago, and anyone who is expecting this fight to live up to the high expectations set for it is kidding themselves.
This is going to be a one-sided battle and will ultimately take away from the pizzazz that the first two fights brought.
