Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez: How Pac-Man Will Destroy Marquez

Manny Pacquiao will absolutely destroy Juan Manuel Marquez in their third bout on Saturday.

After two somewhat controversial meetings, there will be no doubt about who won this fight.

Pacquiao knocked Marquez to the floor four times in their previous two matchups, but Marquez was able to win the majority of the rounds because of his speed and counter-punching ability.

However, due to his age and added weight, I don't think Marquez will have that same speed. The Mexican warrior is now 38 years old, which is relatively ancient by boxing standards.

He's also added 10-15 pounds of muscle to reach the 144-pound weight limit, and I think that will slow him considerably.

But the main reason this fight will be a rout is not the changes in Marquez; it's the changes in Pacquiao.

Three years ago, Pac-Man was a very one-dimensional fighter. He had a huge left hand, and that's it. No right hand, no versatility whatsoever.

Now, that could not be farther from the truth. Pacquiao's right hand is equally devastating as his left and that means Marquez is in for a nightmare.

"Manny can move laterally now, and at that time he would move in only one direction," his trainer Freddy Roach said. "He was a limited guy, he only had one big left hand and no right hook, and now he has two hands and he's much more mobile and I think he's a whole different fighter now."

The fight's promoter, Bob Arum, echoed these sentiments.

"Now Pacquiao not only has a right hand, but his right hand is as powerful as the left hand, which means that he is, to my knowledge, the only fighter around today who is a true switch-hitter, who can hit as hard with the right hand as the left hand," Arum said.

Marquez has publicly shrugged off these improvements in Pacquiao's game, but he has to be terrified privately.

Marques is a smart man. Deep down, he must know that this fight is a lost cause for him.

And if he doesn't, he's in for a harsh reality check on Saturday.
