WWE News: Latest on John Morrison Possibly Leaving WWE When Contract Expires

Drake OzNov 10, 2011

While wrestling fans have been wondering if Chris Jericho is coming back to the WWE, the opposite is true for John Morrison: We’re speculating he may be leaving the company.

Multiple wrestling sites have reported that Morrison likely won’t re-sign with the WWE when his current contract expires in the near future, and Morrison’s three-month-long losing streak only added further fuel to that fire.

And here’s the latest sign that could point to Morrison exiting the WWE sometime within the next couple of months.

From the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

"

For what it’s worth, John Morrison is not listed for any WWE bookings after the December 1st show in Yokohama, Japan. This could indicate that as of the recent booking updates, Morrison is set to leave the company. Morrison’s recent win over Dolph Ziggler could be a sign that things have changed and he’s sticking around.

"

So, which side of the fence are you on? Do you think Morrison is staying or going?

Personally, I thought JoMo was good as gone prior to this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. He hadn’t gotten a victory since August, and he had jobbed to the likes of Mark Henry, Christian and Alberto Del Rio.

That all changed when Morrison got 10-plus minutes for a match with United States champion Dolph Ziggler on Raw this week, and subsequently won that bout.

Why would the WWE give Morrison a clean victory over a current titleholder if he weren’t at least leaning toward staying? I don’t think they would.

Morrison is undoubtedly a valuable asset to the company, but he’s obviously not replaceable. He can leave the WWE today and though some of us fans would complain, Raw wouldn’t miss a beat.

That being said, the WWE would be wise to re-sign him.

You don’t find guys with the look and sheer athleticism that Morrison has too often, and he can contribute in the mid-card, tag team and main event scene for years to come.

Morrison needs the WWE, and the WWE could certainly use Morrison.

As long as JoMo is willing to sign another contract extension and straighten up his attitude, I see no reason why the two sides can’t reach an agreement that makes both of them happy.

For Morrison fans, let’s hope that’s the case.
