NFL Picks Week 10: Road Warriors Who Will Shock Home Teams

T.J. McaloonNov 9, 2011

The term “home field advantage” is a dead phrase. In the NFL now, there is no more home field advantage, which means that road teams have an easier time coming into stadiums and dominating their opponents.

This week, there are three games in particular that will be an easy win for these road teams.

They go into games where there is little to no home field advantage for the home team. As their fans have left their team because of bad play, the home stadium is going to be dominated by the visiting fans or their stadium is not intimidating or has a bad home field environment.

These three teams will all win on Sunday and travel back home with a big road win.

Washington over Miami

The Redskins and Dolphins are two terrible teams in the NFL. The ‘Skins, more so than the Dolphins as of late, have been struggling the most. But, they get to travel to Miami, Fla. this week to play a Dolphins team that hasn’t had a home win in what must feel like forever for their fans.

The ‘Skins will come into “Sun Life Stadium” looking for a win and will leave with a much needed victory as they steal one away from the one-win Dolphins.

Pittsburgh over Cincinnati

This game is the “Road team with more fans at the stadium than the home team.” As, the “Steeler Nation” always travels very well no matter where the Steelers are playing, but against Cincinnati, the stadium may just be 60/40 Steelers fans to Bengals fans.

It will give this Steelers team the extra advantage in their big game this Sunday, a must-win game inside the AFC North division.

New England over New York Jets

New England has gotten beaten up over their last two games. One was on the road at the tough Heinz Field, and the other was against the other New York team at home.

This week, the Patriots travel to their division rival to play in the spacious and very fan friendly Met Life Stadium. In Met Life, the Jets do not have the same intimidating stadium as they once had when they played in the Meadowlands .

This week, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady pulls out a big victory for his Patriots team, as the Jets fans will not be able to get into Brady’s head.

Three teams that should have home field advantage to help them get a big win this week will all fail miserably in helping their team get a much needed win against a non-conference opponent or a division rival.
